Swedish experimental metal act, Meshuggah, have released one of those trendy "lyric videos" on their Youtube channel. The video features a closer look at the album art for their upcoming release Koloss, tour date information, and you guessed it, lyrics.

It's about a 3/5 for me, so I definitely think it's above average, but not by much. I'm predicting the album to be about 2.5 because Meshuggah haven't done anything interesting in years.

Not fond of this. I don't know why I'd think they'd do something different, considering they don't really change their sound much, but this is just kinda boring.

Someone on another forum mentioned something that made sense "meshuggah went from a decent metal band to THE GODS OF METAL title in the past 9-10 years that the hype is just too much at this point to combat." They're being held to such high esteem that nothing they'll come up with will meet that new standard. Here's to hoping anyhow!

That pretty much happens with 99% of bands that make a huge mark in their field. What I find amazing about the Shug is how they can take something as bare as down-tuned 8 string guitars and release the amount of material they have while still keeping it fresh on every album.
