Dir en grey cancel U.S. Tour

2012-02-09 by JizzInMyPants | 29 Comments
Japanese metal band, Dir en grey, cancel their upcoming U.S. tour with Asking Alexandria, Trivium, I See Stars, Motionless in White and The Amity Affliction. The decision came after the lead vocalist's physician recommended him to not perform on the upcoming tour after examination of his vocal chords.

The band releases the following statement from their facebook:

“To our fans as well as the other bands and staff involved in the tour we extend our sincere apologies. We ask for your understanding that this was an extremely difficult decision to make. Thank you all for your continued support, which is deeply appreciated.”

Metal better not be losing their most versatile vocalist.

This is like the third time this has happened, I don't know why everyone is acting like THIS time it's 'the end' for Kyo. Line-up was ridiculously awful too, as much as I really love Dir en grey. Everything should be fine.

Probably better off considering the line-up. Surprised they were gonna tour the US again so soon, saw them live on their tour two months ago and it was awesome. Hope whatever issues he has with his voice work out fine.

I was seriously considering going to one of the shows just to see Dir En Grey. Now I just saved $25.

I really wanted to see this tour, mainly for Dir En Grey but Trivium would have been cool. Kinda glad
it got cancelled though, the fans of the other bands are awful. I can't tell you how many comments I
saw on facebook saying stuff like "take dir en grey off and replace them with we came as romans" or
something stupid like that

Yeah, I love Dir en Grey, but I don't think I would have went because of the rest of the bands.

Would have enjoyed seeing them, but would much rather have Kyo be able to do what he does.

Only ever listened to Uroboros and a few other tracks from them. Not really my style of music but I liked it and Kyo was fucking awesome. Not surprising he has trouble with his vocal cords with the stuff he does.

Why are people caring about whatever line-ups they're on? Yeah, so what if you have to sit through a couple of bands you don't like. Deal with it, Dir En Grey are easily worth sitting through these bands. Jesus...
