Mastodon and Opeth have confirmed performance dates for their "Heritage Hunter" U.S. tour.
The bands will tour as co-headliners and take turns being the closing act. Ghost will open
as the supporting band.
Mastodon released a statement saying, “We’re excited to co-headline this tour with Opeth
for whom we have great respect and admiration. Having Ghost along, as well, will make this
tour a special event.”
Opeth frontman, Mikael Åkerfeldt, commented on the tour. “Yet, am I right in thinking that
this tour, this line up, is pretty decent? Would you all agree? Not complete s-, is it?
Hope to see y’all out there! What are we playing? Not sure yet, but considering the
company, maybe we’ll have to pull out the big guns from time to time. In order to keep up,
Tickets go on sale February 3.

I love Opeth, and the fact that they aren't playing in the Palladium again is awesome. But I never really had any interest in seeing them live.

$40 sounds about right. Might go
No Ohio dates. Cool.
Digging: Queens of the Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork
I'm not too keen on paying $40 to see Opeth again but I'd love to see Mastodon and Ghost.
6 years ago I would've been excited for this
no KC date no care
Would kill for mastodon

"im buying tickets just to burn them 2 shit bands together wow this tour sucks"
what a great idea giving money to bands you hate!
More like a great idea to waste money
He should of spent the money on rehab instead

Dunno if I'll go. Would be at the NYC show if so. I've heard Mastodon sucks live, though. Opeth, I don't know.
Hey, I'm a poet and I didn't even know that I was one!
Gonna try to hit up the Pittsburgh show. Stage AE is awesome

So Opeth are going to start playing heavy songs again AFTER I already saw them on the Heritage tour? Fuck.
Surprised/pleased they are playing in Portland ME. Might go to this.
Digging: Morbus Chron - Sweven
honestly mastodon were so good when i saw them in november. one of the best sounding metal shows i have seen. they've stepped it up over past live performances quality wise bigtime. and i don't think beer had anything to do with my feelings on the show...not a big opeth fan tho. prolly pass on this one.
reno is on the list. im so fucking excited. wooohoooo.
charlotte, nc yay but gotta see the cost..
If they don't play any heavy songs I think I'll pass.
Ghost would be awesome
Digging: St. Vincent - St. Vincent
nice mastodon closing for chicago guess whos not going
Hopefully going to the April 4th show in Maine. Would love to see Opeth live.
going but 40 bucks would be a deal breaker without ghost
50 bucks for nyc show. Might go though, it's during spring break which is pretty sweet.
mastodon is so damn boring live
"hi, my name is brann dailor and i can play consistent double bass for this entire fucking song"

Digging: Spawn of Possession - Incurso

"...maybe we’ll have to pull out the big guns from time to time."
Sounds like Opeth will play some heavier songs. I will be attending fo sho.
Digging: Deathrune - Memories of the Exhumed
^ haha. Emim why does ur avatar keep freezing
that's just your brain trying to keep up
eh, might go to the wallingford one
cheapest ticket at MA date is over 100 dollars...
$40 in Denver. Worth it.
wish opeth was closing in NY :[[
No Ohio? Whateves, playing at Rock on the Range. I'll see Mastodon there.
no AZ. awesome.
I Went to the MI concert. Mastodon basically only played songs from the Hunter, and opeth mostly played songs from Heritage and Warershed (not heavy.) Concert could have been better if they varied their setlist a bit more, but it was still epic.
Going to the calgary show for sure now. I hope opeth is at least bearable live since I'm bringing along a friend that hates them.
