Sweet.

I don't know who Ghost is, there's some other psychadelic group by the name of it on here.

Good call, I saw the UK one but not them. Thx
|
| |
Awesome, give me CTS!
|
| |
I should have seen Mastadon when they were touring with Alice in Chains and Deftones, so I could have seen them with good bands. Too bad the closest venue was Madison Square Garden and tickets were expensive.
|
| |
Opeth probably won't play any heavy songs again
|
| |
Mastodon and Opeth in one place? fuckin awesome. i bet The Hunter songs would be fucking great to see live.
|
| |
Fuck. Yes.
|
| |
Well I wish I saw Opeth with this line-up. It was a snooze fest when I saw them last year.
|
| |
i'd go to this. i only kinda like both bands but it'd be pretty epic
|
| |
The Hunter songs are outstanding live, I especially couldn't believe how well they were performing all of the vocal melodies. Always wanted to see Opeth and Ghost seems as though they would be fun too. Just hoping this one comes near me.
|
| |
ghost sux
|
| |
MUST.
GO.
TO.
THIS.
|
| |
This is a great tour! Ghost is a pretty cool swedish sort of satanic hard rock band. Seen them a couple of times here in Stockholm. Was a bit dissapointed with Opeth last time though, just too many meh-songs.
|
| |
Opeth sucks live now. Such a shame. All they play is acoustic stuff.
|
| |
mastodon>opeth[2]
|
| |
Can't wait for mastodon and ghost
|
| |
cool, probably the worst tour ever
love you too Fade
|
| |
"Mastodon > Opeth"
Nice joke
|
| |
Opeth>Mastodon
Nice Joke
|
| |
Opeth has a much better vocalist, better guitarists, better bassist and drummer. Sorry, but that is undeniable.
|
| |
hopefully i get to see them
|
| |
Would be sick. Don't like Ghost though.
|
| |
I thought more people here would be losing their shit at this announcement.
|
| |
"I thought more people here would be losing their shit at this announcement."
Without dates no ones knows whether to get excited or not.
I hope these bands finally decide to come to Ottawa for the first time but I'm not getting my hopes up
|
| |
Awesome tour, I wish it could pass over Hellas as well.
On another note, the tour should take The Devil's Blood as a third act in the bill, they are much much better than Ghost.
|
| |
Opeth has a much better vocalist, better guitarists, better bassist and drummer. Sorry, but that is undeniable. Except Brann Dailor is a god-tier metal drummer. And it doesn't really matter if Opeth has more technical skill because Mastodon for the most part writes better songs. Both are among my favorite bands though.
|
| |
My two favorite metal bands...together....*dies of fanboyism*
|
| |
will be going
|
| |
'Mastodon for the most part writes better songs.'
will have to disagree on that
|
| |
If they come to mtl or TO I'll totally go. Lets see how mike handles the growls.
|
| |
*crosses fingers* I hope they come to Atlanta.
|
| |
Fuck yeah
|
| |
hmm maybe if they come to vancouver
|
| |
Hell yeah m/
|
| |
heavy meh
|
| |
Opeth has a much better vocalist, better guitarists, better bassist and drummer. Sorry, but that is undeniable.
Only someone who knows nothing about drumming would think that Martin Axenrot is better than Brann Dailor. That is
undeniable. Also Opeth has mediocre singing and great death growls, while Mastodon has two great original voices.
|
| |
umm, are you kidding? Mike blows them out of the water in the vocal department with both cleans and harsh vocals. drumming and guitar skills easily go to Mastodon though.
|
| |
"Also Opeth has mediocre singing"
I'd get those ears checked out
|
| |
"Only someone who knows nothing about drumming would think that Martin Axenrot is better than Brann Dailor."
lol I don't get the constant brann dailor masturbatory tendencies by everyone, he's very average
|
| |
Axe is a pretty fantastic drummer too though. Heritage proved that beyond a doubt
|
| |
Axe is cool but Martin Mendez is the best Opeth drummer.
|
| |
the hunter was better than heritage
|
| |
Opeth will surely be playing a lot of Heritage too.
Tour may lack m/
|
| |
now that his growls have hit the shitter I'll agree with that
|
| |
the hunter was better than heritage [2]
Stoked for this. Saw the first show on the Heritage tour and was disappointed by the setlist. Maybe
touring with Mastodon will wake them up and bring back the more metallic Opeth of 1999-2005.
|
| |
oh, look who posted right before me, haha. didn't notice that.
|
| |
might consider going if they hit kc but really only for mastodon
|
| |
"basist"
|
| |
Oh nice.
|
| |
Axe is cool but Martin Mendez is the best Opeth drummer.
lol
the hunter was better than heritage
lol
|
| |
I'm not thatt big of a Mastodon fan but their drummer is amazing, I don't see how anyone could deny that. His fills are actually interesting, unlike most of the drummers out there.
|
| |
Except Brann Dailor is a god-tier metal drummer.
he was terrible live.
yes, brann, we get that you can play double bass.
quit ramming DADADADADADADADAADADADADADADADADADA down our throats the whole time.
|
| |
m/
|
| |
brent's voice is fucking annoying. he sounds like a cat who just got its tail stapled to a fan. brann can sing and drum at the same time, so godly. both hunter and heritage were let downs.
|
| |
"My two favorite metal bands...together....*dies of fanboyism*" [2]
I'm going to this.
|
| |
Sputnikmusic just had a massive orgasm
|
| |
dopeness cant wait for dates
|
| |
fuck america
|
| |
opeth are great, my only problem is they can sound a bit cheesy
|
| |
seen both bands a few times. if opeth plays their heavy songs then i will go to this
|
| |
Damn son, will be sweet!
jrowa, they don't any more, Akerfeldt even aknowledges it on stage.
|
| |
This may just be the best show ever. I saw Opeth on their Heritage tour, and it was beautiful.
|
| |
People seem to be judging Opeth on their diversity and whatnot, but people are apparently not aware that Opeth does not play their heavy stuff at all anymore. I think Mikael has lost his ability to growl.
|
| |
ill be sure to stay on top of this
|
| |
"Opeth does not play their heavy stuff at all anymore. I think Mikael has lost his ability to growl."
I can't know for sure until Mikael says it himself, but I think they did a less-heavy non-growling set on the Heritage tour
for the same reason that they made Heritage a less-heavy non-growling album... because that's what they wanted to do.
They've done this kind of thing in the past and it didn't become a 'thing'.
|
| |
I saw Ghost live last summer, and it's not something I'd recommend. Weird dudes standing in black priest-like robes, smoke all over the place, and fucking bad metal. Sounds pretty cool, though, I thought so too when I went; left about 30-45 minutes after the show'd started.
|
| |
im sure they will go back to growling live soon. i went to the heritage tour and although they still sounded amazing, i just feel like it wont last if they keep doing the songs with only clean vocals.
|
| |
They'll end up playing roughly the same set over and over again, which will make it pointless to even go see them.
So, yeah, I think they'll kind of have to go back to playing some of the heavier stuff.
|
| |
Fuck yeah, Ghost
|
| |
Sounds awesome just need some dates now.
|
| |
Metallica sucks cock
|
