Wow, that was AWFUL.
| |
...did not see that coming
| |
This will definitely ruffle some feathers if the rest of the album is that different from first
temple. It's still Closure In Moscow but it also sounds a lot like something MUTEMATH would write,
albeit a bit peppier. Song had some cool parts but I'm still on the fence. Def won't be for everyone.
| |
This is so different but it's actually really great. Probably because they realize their old "First Temple" style has been copied through and through since they released it. I like it fucking ton. Just hope the mastering gets better.
| |
well... that was a letdown
| |
It's different but I like it.
| |
Its not bad. I personally don't think its that far away from the First Temple sound.
| |
It just doesn't have the big post-hardcore influence, which I guess a lot of the people here liked about their older stuff/dislike about this.
| |
Definitely. Tbh, their post-hardcore aspect is what I enjoyed the most myself. I like this song, its probly going to be a grower.
| |
I'm all in favor of them going in a more unique direction after First Temple, but that just seemed really cheesy and poorly constructed to me. I hope it was just a demo version or something, because I could see it getting better with decent production, but if that's how the new album's gonna sound, Lord help us all.
| |
yeah, I hope that's not the album cover
| |
That would be hilarious, like I think I'd buy the album just to hang the cover on my wall, but I think the corny anime is just a joke.
| |
I'll have to hear it in context. wow what an uncharacteristically mature observation from a sputnik user
| |
meh
| |
Vocals are still as awesome as ever. Instrumentation isn't quite as impressive as previously, but still quite a good progression. Lookin' forward guys!
| |
so disappointed
| |
this is kind of boring.
| |
It's interesting. Almost sounded like a demo, so it's a little difficult to fully comment. Didn't like it at first, but the final minute sort of wears me down. It just may be the most accessible song of the new album, who knows.
Seeing them live again at the end of January. They better be better than last time!
| |
wouldn't feel out of place on the last mutemath album
it's pretty good
| |
I thought it sounded pretty sweet.
| |
Wait, so this isn't good?
| |
listen for yourself
| |
this song is growing on me. i'm actually really happy that they aren't just trying to make a first temple ii
| |
I liked it, just hope the rest of the album doesn't sound too similar.
| |
its kind of cool, hope some of the other stuff has more of the post-hardcorey vibe though. vocals rule on this.
| |
This is okay but it is really wierd and i don't know how to feel about it. The first two CIM albums are 5's imo so i doubt this will be as good.
| |
and... oh i didn't see this coming at all. I wasn't even sure there were still a band as they've hardly done anything this past 2 years. Hopefully finished recording an album!
| |
I think I've figured out why this is so much less interesting than their previous work...the new rhythm section isn't nearly as creative/good.
| |
they did get a new bassist...
to be fair though it would be hard to follow up the impressive first temple with an even better release.
and yeah this is a grower. I can see that vocal hook getting old fast though.
| |
I'm surprised they got the new bassist since the backup vocalist doesn't sound too different from their older one.
Anyway, I hope they keep not having the post-hardcore influence because the progressive-with-post-hardcore feels like it's been done to death. Idk, I like this. I just hope this is more of a "demo".
| |
Back up vocalist is a guitarist I'm quite sure.
| |
nvm this is fuckin' tite
| |
Hmmm, not bad but I definitely hope the rest of the record is better.
| |
wtf i just realized that they released this song a over a year ago and still no new album
| |
fuk you elephant i thought they released another new song when you bumped this lol
| |
this is one of their best songs. wish it was on pink lemonade
