NME are slow. Cedric announced the new Volta album would be coming out this year a few months back through his Youtube channel. However, I can't wait their new album :D

Also put "Mars Volta" instead of "TMV" in the title. It grabs people quicker.

I have high hopes for this, and not just because I'm a TMV fanboy and all. After hearing some of the new stuff played during coachella and other youtube vids, I think it might be pretty good.

I think this is the most likely case, but I'm still really excited for the release to see whether or not this is true. And TMV at their crappiest is still pretty interesting IMO.

Seriously though, apparently that's been confirmed to be false. However, apparently it will be the title of a song from the album.

No, that will be their next album. Omar wrote all the music for this and then handed it to Cedric to figure out vocals. Hopefully we get this by Summer.

I remember reading somewhere that this is supposed to lack all the proggy jazz fusion elements and sporadic melodies, so it'll prolly be as boring as the last one since they need that shit

Haven't they been going slowly downhill since Frances? Haven't listened to anything past that so I wouldn't know but the ratings for the newer albums aren't as great as De-Loused and Frances.

Well any band would be hard-pressed to top something like Frances. The stuff they've done after that has been pretty different, ranging from worth a listen to awesome.
