So many breakups of some kind lately, KsE singer, The Human Abstract, Oceano (although no one should really care), and this

yeah cuz hardcore/post-hardcore/metalcore/-core is dying in popularity outside of Boston, certain small towns where they still listen to scenecore, US cities with a lot of Mexicans, Absolutepunk, Sputnikmusic and nostalgic 20-somethings who don't want to change their music taste.
|
| |
damn this sucks
...that's a lot of jager
|
| |
It ain't dying
They said they're breaking up because they don't want to play this kind of music anymore pretty much
|
| |
Sad. Day.
|
| |
I was so happy when I heard about Oceano's split that I sucked my own dick out of celebration
|

what

"It ain't dying
They said they're breaking up because they don't want to play this kind of music anymore pretty much"
cuz the scene's dying
"what"
It's true. As the new decade begins to progress, the underground and not-so-underground popularity of certain genres are dying to make way for lo-fi reverby indiecore, hip-hop and bleep bloop music.
|
| |
hardcore has never been a mainstream music genre anyway
|
| |
saw this band live, they were good even though id never heard a record

That sucks, their EP was pretty damn good. It sucks when your passion for something dies, but there really isn't anything you can do about it I suppose.
|
| |
gabe sometimes when i see you post all i can do is shake my head and feel sorry for you
|
| |
Jeez, another band breakup.
Digging: Deafheaven - Sunbather

and another hardcore band breaking up..sucks.
|
| |
As long as I have Converge I'll be okay. It's too bad though.
|
| |
"hardcore has never been a mainstream music genre anyway"
Wrong but anyway hardcore still rises and falls in underground popularity and right now it's falling quite a bit.
"gabe sometimes when i see you post all i can do is shake my head and feel sorry for you"
That's really weird that you literally shake your head at people on the internet.
|
| |
That's too bad.
|
| |
This is shit news!! No Love Can Save Me EP was awesome
|
| |
yeah cuz hardcore/post-hardcore/metalcore/-core is dying in popularity outside of Boston
so way to show you know nothing about hardcore in one sentence
|
| |
fucking lame.
|
| |
When I think of the hardcore authority I think of Gabethepiratesquad
|
| |
lame
Digging: Deafheaven - Sunbather
|
| |
p.s. gabethepiratesquid is stupid
|
| |
where's pit to clean out the userbase when you need him
|
| |
i'm sure he's around in one form or another
|
| |
"so way to show you know nothing about hardcore in one sentence"
Well that wasn't really a sentence since you cut it off.
"When I think of the hardcore authority I think of Gabethepiratesquad"
lol I never claimed to be an authority nor was I dissing hardcore, just saying its popularity isn't what it was even earlier this year.
"p.s. gabethepiratesquid is stupid"
yeah well you're a dumb-dumb
|
| |
"its popularity isn't what it was even earlier this year."
well we are 5 days into the year
|
| |
Shit I keep forgetting it's 2012. I would keep thinking it was 2010 until like...February last year.
|
| |
Maybe the death of hardcore is what the Mayans were talking about
|
| |
ahh bummer.
|
| |
they were pretty good

Although No Love Can Save Me was good, this isn't a major loss in the hardcore world.
Digging: Emika - DVA

balls I liked this band
Digging: Daylight - Jar

|

don't worry people, its about time for someone to come along and re-invent this genre...just wasn't these guys....
|
| |
" No Love Can Save Me" was phenomenal. What a shame.

hopefully manners keeps going, would love to hear a full length from those guys
|

FUCK
|
| |
Zippa pretty much nailed it. This is so depressing :/
|
| |
Loved No Love Can Save Me, never really got around to listening to anything else they released. Kind of sad I'll never get the chance to see them live
|
| |
One Year Later is just as good if not better imo. Equally depressed I won't get to see them live :/
|
| |
"If you'd like to join the Deathwish street team, send a nude polaroid (photocopies will not be accepted) and a list of your fears (in descending, chronological and alphabetical order) to Nicole. "
lol this is awesome
|
| |
If you took all the good tracks this band has written, you'd have one (admittedly awesome) album. Their albums were filled with too much stale material and too little of the awesome. Still, sad to see them go. It's the hardcore curse I tell you.
|
| |
Also, I just joined the Deathwish street team. PM me for the nude photo, please.
|
| |
Sucks, pretty much the same age as these dudes and from the same area so I grew up seeing them on a regular basis. Sucks to see em go, will be at the last show.
|
| |
Band was meh. A few great tracks, too much filler.
|
| |
Also Gabe, you're a fucking idiot. Hardcore's at probably it's highest peak in the last decade. Just because a couple of bands split up doesn't mean shit, you fucking waste of space.
Oh no! Thrice and Thursday broke up! I guess post-hardcore's gonna die soon!
|
| |
band's irrelevant. no loss.
