Topshelf Records Emo band Grown Ups have called it a day saying, "Well it’s been fun. Went to a lot of cool places. Met some of the best people. Maybe we’ll have our shit together to play one more set. Thanks everybody."
The band released 2 LPs and 1 EP during their career.
Hey hey guys, wait for it...
they must have grown u...
OW WHO THE FUCK THREW THAT!?
lame, lame, lame.
Digging: Faith No More - The Real Thing
pretty gay album titles
Digging: Hum - Downward Is Heavenward
2 albums is the limit for an emo band
Digging: The World is a Beautiful Place And... - Whenever, If Ever
fuck, guys were good.
songs is the shit
Digging: Deafheaven - Sunbather
Digging: Alex G - Trick
fuuuuuuck i was just getting into this band.
Digging: Sabertooth Zombie - Midnight Venom
nooooooo!!!!!! 2 lps? I thought it was 1 lp and 2 eps
haha snowing's facebook status: "See you in hell, Grown Ups."
I saw that
I'm sorry it just happens sometimes....just remember that it is not because of you or anything you did little guy.
i see what you did there
Shitty news. These guys were pretty good.
Digging: Night Birds - Maimed For The Masses
Grown Ups is an awful movie.
that title is a real tongue twister
seriously though, what's with all these modern emo bands just calling it quits after two or three measly (albeit awesome) releases? WHERE'S THE CONSISTENCY AND TREPIDATION, MEN!?
"Songs" is the only album I have from this band, but it rules so hard
and I think emo bands are required to break up or something, not many last long
SEA ANEMONE IS CRYING!!!!
"WHERE'S THE CONSISTENCY AND TREPIDATION, MEN"
Grab a dictionary, look up trepidation, then read your comment.
So sad about this. ;( Oh well though, 2 LPs and 1 EP is enough
Break Ups grown up
Digging: Quasimoto - Yessir Whatever
Digging: Bibio - Silver Wilkinson
My friend and I have started a new tradition. Every time a good emo band breaks up, we get a 40 each, pour some out, then get drunk while listening to their music.
wurlitzer, i can definitely get on that idea. gutted. first snowing and now these dudes. one of the best live performances i've ever seen too
Digging: The Wonder Years - The Greatest Generation
Gonna start doing that for every emo band that has broken up since 2011. Have many drunk days to come.
Amputation's a bitch. RIP
weirdest sound. those clean guitars.. uuugggggghhhhhh. i like it though
how do they have two LPs, songs and hand holder are both 4 songs, by my count, their only full-length is more songs and that has 4 songs recycled from songs.
Wish they released a decent length LP before this...
best title lol
god damn that blows. but I guess every good emo band has to break up after releasing like, 3 albums max. that's the cool thing to do these days I guess.
they were like 65 in emo years anyway. plus hand holder was just okay. maybe it's time for a lion of the north reunion
yeah Hand Holder was alright but nothing compared to Songs. I'm down with a Lion of the North reunion (do these bands share members?)
the singer is def the same guy who screamed in lion of the north, idk about other members can't remember right now.
Not really a surprise. I heard they missed a decent amount of shows because they didn't care and got high instead.
hose the band stopped halfway through a tour because they wanted to keep eating pizza in chicago.
It's obvious why they're all doing it. They grow their fanbase to a respectable amount of people, then break up so they can have everyone go "OMG NNOOOOO you guys were the best band evar my life is overrrr." And that makes them feel valuable. Classic emo move.
But just kidding it's sad to see them go.
2011: MHTJ, Joie De Vivre, Snowing, Grown Ups...
fucking crap i was waiting for them to release at least another lp
it's a shame
at least hand holder was lame so it doesn't hurt so bad
well this sucks.
