Melodic Hardcore act Counterparts have released a second new song entitled "The Disconnect"
off of their upcoming release, The Current Will Carry Us which will be released on
October 25th. The song can be heard on the Victory Records Facebook page.
good but not prophets good
Digging: Magnolia Electric Co - Trials and Errors
apparently they are not that angry anymore, makes them sound a bit more generic, i'm not so stoked on this album now
They were never that angry really.
they were still pretty intense, it's cool they are trying to slow things down a bit but it makes them sound like a bunch of other bands
I wouldn't say they're angry.
That didn't really do anything for me. This won't top Prophets imo.
Digging: Shreddy Krueger - The Grieving
if anything, they're more angry now than they were. prophets lyrics were straight up posi. this song fucking rules though. it's cool to see so much hardcore influence in it.
@leatherneck did you even listen to the song? the last lyrics are "i fucking hate the world, i fucking hate myself, i swore i'd never fucking feel like this"
sounds pretty angry to me... lol
Pretty boring actually. This isn't shaping up to be Prophets good. We'll see with the full album.
Digging: Down - NOLA
Not gonna lie, I kind of like the new Close Your Eyes a bit more than this.
Not as good as prophets but won't judge till full length is released
i honestly expected better. the first song they released ruled though
Digging: Weekend Nachos - Still
Actually, just realized how awesomely abrasive this gets. Kind of really down for it.
Not sounding as good as prophets
"man guys so disappointing its not as good so its not good"
Sounds just like prophets
"Dammit why wont they progress i didnt ask for this"
have their new album. it's legit
DANTE. You and me need to have a talk over shoutbox.
I hope that these songs are just because of the singles and that the rest of the album will rule.
Am I the only one who didn't think Prophets was great
dudes wtf how could you be disappointed with this...
am i the only one who thinks this is just as good as prophets
i also just obtained the album
Abum leaked and I'm not home.
Perks of being able to download zip files on a droid. Someone put it in the database
somebody shoutbox me...
have this on my ipod now
fuck yes got the leak
their new album is FUCKING AWESOME
my fucking god i love this band so much
i wish they could replicate the sound they had on the Counterparts/ Exalt EP, so classic
new album is on par with prophets, different style though
it's so fucking emotionally moving to me
like, in a very real way.
i am no one is so awesome, and it's less than 2 minutes.
also, the constant.
i'm just now REALLY listening to it from the first time and not from my shitty droid phone speaker, and god i love it so much. on track 3.
this may be better than prophets
just DL'd the leak. STOKED. ill probs 5 this after a few listens
i'm so close to 5'ing it already
but seriously its a solid album
album is a 5 just for reflection
changing my rating now
just got the leak. gonna give it a more focused listen when i'm not showering but it sounded pretty good though not immediately as hard-hitting as prophets was. the leads in pedestal are delicious though
highly doubt it's better than Prophets
it's more consistent than prophets.
it's not, on par
in my opinion, it is. and it very well could be better than prophets, but i couldn't make the decision the day of hearing it for the first time
no i agree with you that it's more consistent, but it's also much safer
i don't dislike any of the songs, honestly.
reflection is so so so fucking good though
haven't listened to it yet because i'm actually gonna buy the record. these kids need money
might actually up my rating to a 4.5, this rules
i pre-ordered it and haven't got it yet, that's why i downloaded it haha.
i love it more with each listen, it's just so fucking awesome
my inner fanboy is showing itself more and more
basically on the same level as Mirrors
pedestal is the best song
i like reflection the most, but The Constant is a close second
forget about what i said the album fucking rules
going through the album for the first time
not sure what to think yet, definitely good but needs moar listens
Digging: Touche Amore - Is Survived By
the album is incredible
album slays face. uncertainty? more like uncertainawesomeness amirite
Check out Mandalay Victory, play a similar style, very good also
but hes nobodys heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeero
will this be the new Misery Signals?
no the new Misery Signals will be the new Misery Signals
A lot more negative this time around.
Hm...this song is amazing!
Digging: Mansions - Doom Loop
it's not that they're more negative on this record
i was talking to their bassist a few nights ago, and he was saying that regardless of all the negativity and bad things that happen to us that the current will always carry us forward, even when we don't think we are moving forward. it's got an "underlying" message of positivity. no pun intended.
"no the new Misery Signals will be the new Misery Signals" this
best band ever.
Digging: Evenings - Yore
Counterparts make Canada proud.
I hate how the recording quality of their indie record is better quality than the one being paid for by a major label. Regardless, love this band. Awesome dudes.
Going through this for the first time and holy fuck is it good.
holy shit the new album is so damn good. wow.
no the new Misery Signals will be the new Misery Signals
this this this this. no one can touch mis sigs.
Can't wait for new Mis sigs. Whenever that'll be.
This album's pretty good though. I think Prophets is better, though.
Digging: Childish Gambino - Because The Internet
Album definitely isn't as good as Prophets. On the Mis Sigs topic... I can't wait to hear something new from them.
Interested to hear how the lineup change will affect them
They did a cover of "Us And Them." That's all you got for now.
and that cover sucked
album is a bit better than prophets
Nah, cover was good.
cover was ite but wasn't Mis Sigs
lol this kills prophets in so many ways. they ditched the generic "core" sound for a lot more authentic straight hardcore sound. converge influence out the ass. they sound like they're signed onto deathwish
