i liked their first few 7"s but the full length seemed overwrought and heavy handed.

maybe it was just hearing so much whiney music in one sitting

i'm not sure what would make someone enjoy their early stuff but not the lp. their sound has remained fairly consistent, the main difference was just the amount of material. i guess the songs started to get more long-winded too, but that's to be expected when you have more time to play with than on a 7"
