who the fuck listened to their first record?
yeah i saw this earlier. about time for bemis. enough of that lo-fi shit.
sure this'll rape though.
Digging: The Contortionist - Clairvoyant
i'm guessing by "first record" he means iarb, since he pretty much disregards that baseball ever happened. if that's the case, i'm stoked.
Digging: Craig Finn - We All Want the Same Things
ah good good. my heart is content.
Digging: Counterparts - You're Not You Anymore
the fuck? i thought this band died with fuse.
Awesome news. Can't wait.
they'll never top IaRB - which is one of my favorite albums ever. I wasn't really a fan of their past two records, so I'm glad to hear that this one is similar to IaRB.
so so so so so so stoked
fantastic news at the end of a great day. i'm about to sleep really well.
same producer as IARB as well
I'm really interested in the way he keeps comparing it to classic rock records and IARB. If what he says is true, this album really isn't going to be like anything else they've done.
Max is extremely consistant so I really couldn't be more pumped about this.
"the fuck? i thought this band died with fuse."
I have a very passionate love for this band but this made me laugh.
this is great news
interview got me pretty stoked for this record.
Fuckin' YES! Stoked for this now.
Digging: Gang of Youths - Go Farther in Lightness
Dear God, I hope this album isn't as tame as their last one. They're best when they get crazy.
did any of you guys actually click the link
because what he's describing sounds FUCKING TERRIBLE
what's wrong with more raw, anthemic say anything?
i'm not so sure about the non-distorted rhythem guitar, harmonica, or dulcimer but max knows how to write a song like the best of them.
i really, really hope it's way different than the self-titled
This band sucks.
HOLY SHIT I'M SO FUCKING STOKED FOR THIS BRUH.
SO HYPED. while bemis' solo stuff was less than impressive, i'm convinced that when he works with cody linder they can do no wrong. loved every album they've made after baseball and i doubt this will change things
I'm not sure how I feel about this, as I'm not that big a fan of IARB...
I really loved their s/t but IARB is so good it's difficult to imagine this not fucking ruling right now.
This album will suck
This album will either be amazing or just terrible. And I'm saying this as someone who thinks all of their three latest albums are equally fantastic. (actually, iaRB is probably the least good of the three)
It's going to be a 5. Calling it now.
It's back to just him and the drummer in the studio! Thank god!
the lack of distortion kinda scares me. but whatev. Max and Coby know what they are doing. can't fucking wait.
what's wrong with the self-titled? i dug the hell out of it.
This album will either be amazing or just terrible.
iaRB is probably the least good of the three [lol NO]
In defense of the genre is the worst. 1....is a real boy. 2. Self-titled.
...Is a Real Boy is my favourite album of theirs, although I've yet to hear Baseball (lol). Even though he practically denies its existence, I still want to hear it. And while I liked their self titled, I'll admit that I dislike the lack of subtlety on it.
He's coming around to Baseball actually. recently said that the new label was going to try to get it re-released
he posted a vid of him doing an acoustic colorblind to his youtube a year or so ago
they played colorblind on their last tour. and max said that they will release the songs (from baseball) "officially"not sure what that means. baseball isn't a bad album. i love their last two albums and IARB is hands down the best one, so i'm stoked to hear the new album.
just started listening to these guys
I hope the classic wittiness of Say Anything is still contained cuz I'm not looking for any Painful Splits shit here.
oh sheit.. cheers bra
Single rules pretty hard
you know it rocks when it has hand claps
