Holy god this is beyond bad.
MOTHERFUCKIN' PSYCHOSANE lololol

thought it could be interesting with portnoy but then I saw they were touring with godsmack and didn't take the time to check them out
|
| |
Don't. It's really, really awful.
|
| |
I like it. Nothing amazing, but still.
|
| |
Yeah, it's pretty disappointing. Just more of Russell's over-aggressive vocals. Except as opposed to Symphony X, there are no excellent instrumental parts to balance things out here.
|
| |
Upon hearing the sampler thing they posted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvXJG-Ch3Qg I thought maybe
it would be good stuff. Nope Guitars were kinda bland, vocals didn't fit in, and the drums were too
complicated for what they were doing. idk. it just didn't work.
Anyways, anyone else sorta reminded of Lie - Dream Theater with the psychosane riff?

Awful production here
|
| |
the vocals killed it.

"I like it. Nothing amazing, but still."
you made an account just to say that?
|
| |
i wanted this to be good so bad. and its just not
|
| |
I stand corrected

i wanted this to be good so bad. and its just not [2]
Full of haters damn
Well, when musicians like Russell Allen and Mike Portnoy pump out something this weak, I think it's justified
|
| |
Wow. I actually laughed out loud at the guys voice
|
| |
It's not awful. I wasn't expecting anything progressive or incredibly complex; MP and RA did a good job letting down my expectations before this EP. It's nothing original - at all - and it sounds a *lot* less "modern" than they seem to think, but the musicianship and songwriting are solid throughout.
|
| |
Hey, it saves dredg the dubious honor of releasing the worst album that I've heard this year!
|
| |
I had my account days before this was released. It's just a coincidence that was my first comment..
|
| |
Even if the guys choose to go more towards a hard rock direction than metal "which is what it sounds like" Im confident it will still be worth picking up because of how amazing the musicians involved are.
|
| |
If the riffs were better, and portnoy's backing vox removed, it'd probably be a lot better.
Portnoy says that the best songs are gonna be on the album though, so hopefully they just chose the worst songs to give us in advance.
|
| |
This is not reassuring.
After that run with A7X and now onto an obviously radio-rock sound? Metal is essentially dead in the way of profits. If you're in metal, you better be in it for the music.
