Nick Oliveri arrested by SWAT team

Former Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri has been release following his arrest on domestic violence charges.
Oliveri gave himself up following a five-hour stand-off with a SWAT team at his home in Los Angeles. He had locked himself and his girlfriend inside the duplex following a heated argument in which she announced her intention to leave him.
The musician's girlfriend told police that he had struck her during an argument the previous day. She had returned to collect her belongings when he barricaded them both in the house. Police were notified when a neighbour reported a domestic disturbance.
Oliveri has been charged with a domestic violence felony and released on a $100,000 bond.
