Riverside have posted a new track from their upcoming EP, Memories In My Head. The song is called "Forgotten Land" and is streaming on the Soundcloud website.
Memories In My Head is being released to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the band. It contains 33 minutes of new music, and just three songs.
1. Goodbye Sweet Innocence
2. Living In The Past
3. Forgotten Land
Mariusz Duda, Riverside singer comments:
This new material, concerning (for obvious reasons) the themes of the passing time, will be a pleasant surprise for those who have missed the specific kind of melodies and space known from the bands early releases. We have consciously gone back to our beginnings to create a certain kind of a circle. This mini-album will contain three longer compositions most resembling those from our first two albums. The result is a quite interesting, spacious, film-soundtrackish, nostalgic, and most of all rock mixture, summing up our career's first decade quite well. "Memories In My Head" is an album which appears out of nowhere, without much promotion; we hope, though, that its content can defend itself and that it will evoke a lot of positive emotions. It does that to us, and we will prove it soon, playing those songs live at our upcoming gigs.
Memories In My Head will be available on the band's upcoming European tour which begins on on 5th of May in Prague (CZ) and finishes on 29th of May in Warsaw (PL). Tides From Nebula will support Riverside on first 12 concerts, later the Pineapple Thief from Great Britain and Paatos from Sweden will join the tour for last 6 gigs.
Yeah well it better be like the early releases cause Anna Whatver HD sucked...
Sounds very VERY good. His voice is just.. mind-blowing
promising return to their more moody, melancholic sound
Their first three were all great, never listened to ADHD.
Digging: Nektar - Journey to the Centre of the Eye
yeah older albums were much better
sounds pretty promising, didnt much care for the ADHD direction
Reminds me of 'Left Out' a bit. I love their melancholic ballad side.
Sounds pretty good. If they might play near here during their tour I might consider seeing them.
I like it. I haven't listened to these guys in a while.
will surely listen to this l've always liked their work
These guys are good.
YES YES YES
Digging: Thank You Scientist - Maps of Non-Existent Places
Riverside is one of my favourite artists, this news was a wonderful surprise : )
I have a few songs by them that I listen to occasionally but I haven't listened to a full album before. I really enjoy what I have though.
I'd say the band is quite consistent. It's almost like a "if you like one song, you'll like 'em all" kind of thing.
Ill have to get some albums then, I don't know why I haven't yet. A lot of people have told me to.
Start with out of myself
Song is awesome.
Ok Brick, I shall.
Will check it out later.
Digging: Down - NOLA
ADHD was good but I don't think they could have kept up with that sound for more than one album. Hoping this is a return to their older material. Out of Myself is a personal favorite.
Digging: Jamie Lenman - Muscle Memory
OutOfMyself is pleased.
Sounds good. I used to really like these guys back when I was more in to prog rock and metal but I dropped off after "Rapid-Eye Movement". I haven't really listened to them in a while.
ADHD didn't really impress me at all the first time I listened to it, but now I love it. "Left Out" is by far the best song on that album. That song haunts my soul..
