New Burial EP

2011-03-24 by 2muchket! | 46 Comments
After a 4 year hiatus, Burial is set to release new solo material ahead of an as yet untitled 3rd LP later in the year.

The 12" is set to be released next Monday on Hyperdub, and comes straight off the back of the release of his collaboration with Four Tet and Thom Yorke.

A stream of two out of the three new tracks can be found here http://www.thisisfakediy.co.uk/articles/news/listen-two-new-burial-tracks-street-halo-stolen-dog-debut-online

These tunes seem more silky than on Untrue, if that makes sense?! Sexy as fuck. The bassline in Street Halo is soooo good

Songs rule, will definitely be getting this/the album when it comes out. This might possibly be the best year for music, like, ever.

Not surprised that he's moving into more tech house territory with this either. Sounds like a mix between some of the Night Slugs stuff and new Joy O

Yeah I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thinks this, the staple of his sound with those haunting vocal clips and eerie urban landscape sound effects are ever present, but it's a lot bassier than his previous stuff, which is good because HyperDub have kinda fell by the wayside to Night Slugs over the past 18 months.

They're just not consistently putting out the material. Doesn't help when the label owner is teaching media to uni students and writing books

That's what kode9 is upto these days then hmm. And yeah they're not putting out the volume of material that Night Slugs are they're definitely my favourite label. I have high hopes for the new Burial album, didn't think we were going to get one actually. I'm calling dibs on it now dev, I will fight you in a cross continental show down if need be me ol' mucka.

To my knowledge no, the only versions I can find of the two tracks in the link are the radio rips.

Something will surface in the next few days, it does get released on Monday after all. I get paid this
weekend too, awwww yeah.

they didnt say when the album would be released, dude on the radio said they dont know when it will be ready. how does that equate to "release new solo material ahead of an as yet untitled 3rd LP later in the year"

The site was probably just quoting a hyperdub press release

That's what kode9 is upto these days then hmm.

If the tracks here are any indication of the album I think he might end up alienating people who don't generally listen to this kind of stuff

I think he's made a smart move by mixing it up though
