Frank Turner album + tour news

2011-02-24 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 26 Comments
English folk/punk rocker Frank Turner will release his fourth solo album England Keep My Bones on June 6.

The album features guest appearances from ex-Hold Steady keyboardist Franz Nicolay, folk singers Emily Barker and Chris T-T, and Unbelievable Truth's Andy Yorke.

Turner said: "I can't wait to get this record out there. The new songs have been going down really well live, but I think that when people hear the studio versions they're going to go nuts. I think it's the strongest set of material I've had on one record."

Turner has scheduled a string of acoustic dates throughout May in anticipation of the release and will tour the UK festival circuit in the summer, including a headlining spot on the third stage at Download on June 12.

Tour Schedule:

May:

I've always questioned the consistency of all 3 of his albums. Don't get me wrong, the good songs are amazing and fill most of the album, but there's always 2 or 3 mediocre/filler tracks. I don't get all the love for LI&S though- Imperfect Tense is pretty poor and Jet Lag is really bad (in my opinion).

I don't know how anyone could hate Jet Lag...one of his best songs imo

Excited for the album, but I hope it's a little better than Poetry of the Deed

Jet Lag is great. Not holding out much hope for this, though.

Imperfect Tense is exceptional. But it is the least exceptional on that album.
