Come on guys, if you didn't know there was sincerity behind her themes (when she wants to), then you haven't listened to enough of her stuff.

It annoys me when people write off Pink because of that... & then some of those same people go worship a Gaga or Rihanna.

Having said that, I'm still not sure how I feel about this song/video either.

Nah man, I did know, I really like her, too, I just was pretty shocked when they actually showed the
cutting scene. That doesn't really happen in mainstream music or videos.

I knew you knew Adam. And yeah, the cutting scene may be a little too much... The rest of the video definitely has its heart in the right place though.

I just watched the video and a few things.

1) musically, yes it's a pretty generic/bad pop song
2) yes the cutting scene was probably a bit too much

but I'm glad she did it. I've always had some weird inherent respect for P!nk since I shamefully bought Can't Take Me Home as a kid. perhaps it's because I remember not wanting to buy it because I was worried about what kids at school would think of me listening to music they would probably call "gay." my dad told me (stripped down version of course) that I didn't need to worry about what anyone thought of me; I'm a trend setter not follower. he basically had me thinking that everyone would see me listening to P!nk's CD and run out to buy it. it was really some nice parenting on his part.

while I don't like the song and won't buy the album, she knows that lots and lots of people will. Pretty much no matter what she writes (or doesn't write) and sings about will be listened to and loved by thousands. lots and lots of people will connect with it the way that we sometimes connect with other, and at the risk of sounding elitist, better music. this song will realistically stop hundreds of kids from killing themselves, and while they'll still probably continue to have questionable taste, at least their friends and families won't be destroyed
