Glassjaw Lennon download 2011-01-06 by Mark Campbell | 53 Replies | 3917 Views |
Glassjaw have released "You Think You're (John Fucking Lennon)" (complete with long cockteasing intro) for FLAC/ALAC/192kbps mp3 download on Merch Direct for $1 and for free from Project Rodney in 128kbps.
In other news, every other digital music outlet has had the song already for about a week. Much like Easter being represented by a bunny, there's a point somewhere.

|

|

Glassjaw is now public enemy n°1 on Sputnik, retarted users, and band...
|
| |
guys... this was the only song that wasn't available for download on their website. they're just trying to be complete
shut the fuck up
|

Uh oh. According to someone who works at Merch Direct, the band had no idea that Our Color Green: The Singles even existed, much less that it was available for purchase at every major digital music outlet. This means:
A. Someone's getting sued
B. Glassjaw failed hard at internet/reading and should pay more attention
C. The vinyl single thing might not be done
D. These songs might not be the "EP" they were talking about
E. Our Color Green is likely a fake
F. All of the above

Calm down everyone. This is the only single that they haven't released as a free download yet. It's not really that big of a deal. They seem to be done with all of the vinyl singles. You can be angry that they haven't released an album yet but everyone seems to be overreacting to this.
|
| |
Overreacting? SPUTNIK? Surely you jest
|
| |
Yeah this was always going to happen makes no sense to be mad now. And strizz, where did you read that they didnt know about it?

Yeah I'd like to know, too. Sputnik gets way too butthurt every time Glassjaw blueballs 'em.

haha nice

i'd like to know where the info about the ep came from. but, yeah, before everyone starts throwing fits, lennon as a download should really have been expected.

A kid on GJN called Merch Direct and that's the answer he got
and what the fuck? 192 and 128 kbs are such shitty formats.
Did you miss the part where you can get all of them in Apple Lossless or FLAC?
|
| |
but why would they even offer 192 and 128? who purposely downloads those formats?

1 buck for shitty quality and some file choices
or free for a shitty mp3
can we stop posting useless glassjaw "news" unless it involves the release date an actual album of NEW material
|
| |
hey guys 192kbps means I can fit more songs on my shitty nano so lay off.
when I get a classic what bitrate would you recommend?

FLAC all the way. It's not playable on iTunes but you can just convert it to Apple Lossless with a program like dbPowerAmp and get the same effect, it's a perfect digital copy of the CD. Personally I don't ever go below v0 unless it's a really huge release that I want bad. v0 mp3 is probably the best mix of size and quality and should be fine for mostly anything unless you're a serious audiophile or listening to albums with a lot of sonic nuances (i.e., Radiohead, Pink Floyd, etc.)
|
| |
what about 320 kpbs mp3?
|
| |
Who the fuck cares if it is 128, 192, 256, or 320? I can't tell the difference. Too many loud ass concerts hahaha

yeah f'real fucking lol at bitching about bitrates... yes i am familiar with and know about the different ones and their
advantages, but ffs 128's are the only ones i wont listen to. 192-320 are fine for me. FLAC and Lossless are just too
big of files.
Also, shut up and quit bitching about gj. This IS the best of the new songs anyway...
|
| |
I know people often download 128 or something without knowing any better, but if they're offering any format, I don't know who in their right mind would CHOOSE the lower quality ones.
Dogget, I hadn't thought of that, needing to fit lots of songs onto a nano. That makes sense I guess.

band are douches that make good music

Don't worry like most stories about this band it probably is false/bullshit/true
But honestly they're pretty brilliant with marketing by doing almost nothing. That's why a new LP is probably right around the corner, it just makes no sense from a business perspective (and that's what Justin Beck is) to kill all the hype they've built up the last five months for some new-ish songs that have been played live for years when they can bank huge on a new record, possibly even released in limited format/copies like the vinyls and create another eBay rape scene yay
|
| |
As much as they have fucked with us, they have done something different and as annoying as it is, it gets people hyped, ticked off, people saying fuck this im done with them... but they aren't, as soon as they release their new album everyone who's rags on them is gonna be right there ready to soak it up... Its got people talking and I just made this saying up but here goes "Even bad publicity is good publicity"
|
| |
Like I said. They're fucking smart and know exactly what they're doing, and it works.
|
| |
The whole thing about the business perspective I don't get is why wouldn't they make more vinyls and make them a little more... If they really wanted to make a profit they are doing it all wrong... the only people that are prospering are the douches who buy them and have no intentions of keeping them and then sell them for a retarded price on ebay...unless its secretly beck doing it .. that would be low
|
| |
The vinyls were meant to be a collector's item and I didn't pay more than the $6 each + shipping that they sold for. That was just a move for the diehards who watch their every more. They did release every song for free/paid download only a month later so they're idiots for buying one song for $150+ dollars
|
| |
The thing that makes the least sense about people bitching is that all the songs are released for free. Sure they're making money and hyping themselves up in a semi annoying way, but free music should be IMO appreciated in just about any form. I'm more bothered by them selling tickets and posters together making the ticket price skyrocket, ive always wanted to see them live but won't give in to that.
|
| |
it's just a shit way to treat your fans.
|
| |
yeah if they keep fucking around and then the new album (if there is one) doesn't meet the majority of fans expectations they've basically dug their own grave
|
| |
@ tmobotron
i'm pretty sure you can buy just the tickets from the venues/ticketmaster
i know you can get the starland tickets for $20
people are just looking for reasons why all of this is some great injustice
|
| |
Age of Entitlement FTW. They're just a band and don't owe anyone shit, you just happen to like their music that they write for themselves. Duh
|
| |
God damn, even the 'unbiased' presenter of this news seems pissed off. I'm sure the collective asshole of their fans is appropriately soar and reddened from Glassjaw's relentless musical butt-fucking. Somebody need to fucking slap them around a bit because this is just not the way to go.
|
| |
And I can see it biting Glassjaw on the arse, because their new stuff barely sounds like them. It sounds a hundred times better to me, but I'm betting most fans will bitch.
|
| |
Why can't people detect sarcasm ever
|
| |
Because it's best served with a voice, not words on a screen. It's like a billion times harder to catch on the internet.
|
| |
I'm gonna be the second person to comment on the music. Cool.
My most played track of '10.
Shit kicks.
