Sumerian Records' progressive metalcore act After the Burial have released an official promo for their upcoming studio album "In Dreams", to be released November 23.
it says it got removed by the user...
Digging: Weekend Nachos - Still
I've heard one song of off this album that I remember being pretty boring.
lol fuck it was up a couple hours ago...and it was the official sumerian youtube
fix'd thanks matte
this makes me a very happy panda
they are going to chug on this album? what an informative promotional video!
Digging: Tullycraft - Lost in Light Rotation
Nice vocals, but doesn't really show me anything I didn't already know.
Digging: Thank You Scientist - Maps of Non-Existent Places
groove was catchy as fuck.
Vocals seem like they are gonna be good. The vocals on the first album were awful as fuck.
I actually like this, suppose I'll have to check out the new album then.
Digging: Marilyn Manson - Born Villain
Understanding In a Crash - Listen to Rareform Re-Release, it has a much smoother sound and their new vocalist.
likes da groove, but too short to be sure of anything.
Gave their last album a 3 cause of lots of cool ideas but generally bad songwriting/flow. This one has potential but could be a huge failure imo.
Soo stoked for this album, rareform was incredible
Musically, I liked Forging a Future Self better, but that vocalist just fucked everything up. I actually like the new guy.
God, they sound like some bastardized version of Periphery and Meshuggah. And not even in the "they're-influenced-by" sense, they just sound like they're straight ripping rhythms from Meshuggah and making them simpler.
Who would ever want to rip-off Periphery?
Vocalist is insane live but I can't constantly listen to these guys.
"God, they sound like some bastardized version of Periphery and Meshuggah. And not even in the "they're-influenced-by" sense, they just sound like they're straight ripping rhythms from Meshuggah and making them simpler."
This sounds NOTHING like Periphery and I hear influence of Meshuggah, but there is a very obvious difference between the two. IMO This isn't a "Meshuggah rip off", I see it as another amazing After the Burial album.
Just listen to Encased In Ice. It sounds VERY Original and Progressive. This album (let's hope) will be a new sound to the metal community and set the bar for the "Djent" genre. I do not hear anything "generic" from this at all. Listen to the Amazon MP3 previews. This will be an amazing album.
I really wish people would stop saying "Djent" is a genre of music.
It is about as stupid as a deathcore band calling their music "chug"
Djent is a genre get over it
^ You're an idiot. How can a guitar tone be a genre?
it's not a genre you cunt it's a sound
djent djdjent djdjent djdjent djdjent djDJENT DJDJENT DJdjent djdjent
name that song
Djent is a genre get over it. That's why on some band's pages they list their genre as Djent/Progressive/Metal orrr Djent/Metal ooorrrrr Djent/Death Metal/Metal.. etc... It is a genre
Oh and here ya go http://wikibin.org/articles/djent.html
What a hilarious article. They don't even know what Ion Dissonance's genre is or what djent is. Just because a band uses djent tone and says they're a djent band doesn't make them not stupid. You probably don't even know that the origin and actual meaning of djent isn't a genre.
no dude he's right. some of my other favorite genres are chacka-lacka and dweedly da
Djent was coined by Misha Mansoor on some of the forums he visited.Fredrik Thordendal of Meshuggah invented it but, never named it. Misha popularized the term and Fredrik created it. And it is a genre... sure it is a onomatopoeia, that doesn't mean it's not a genre. That's like saying "rock" and "metal" aren't genres because they are lifeless objects not music.
not a genre
It's debatable Climactic you can think what you want. But, I will refer to it as a genre k thx? And everyone should go checkout After the Burial's new album it is crazy good. And be sure to buy it =)
I'm the one who posted this article. I have it. It is pretty awesome yes.
Lol just read the funniest comment... "After the Burial's writing process must literally be sitting down with an 8 string and a calculator."
Misha Mansoor is a tool.....just saying
He's a great guy...
Album leaked, it destroys.
...itself in confusion!
omg ur soo funny dood stop beeng so funy
