California is huge too but everywhere worth going is pretty close to me, except LA and San Diego, but I have San Francisco and Santa Cruz so who cares.

I usually have to drive an hour+ for shows where I am (Mid-Michigan). Before I had rent/responsibilities/a drinking problem I still somehow found a way to go to shows every week.
