That's actually fairly genius
At least every bothersome girlfriend has a taste for NeverShoutNever and buy his albums as a result. Then as boyfriends with good taste in music we take her to see him giving him further money. That's at least 1 album and 1 concert ticket guaranteed from every scene girl/ normal guy relationship in America alone.
