Hugh Laurie, bluesman
2010-07-27 by Dr Dave De Sylvia STAFF | 36 Comments
Actor Hugh Laurie is to embark on a new career path as a blues musician after announcing details of a record deal with Warner Music.

The 51-year-old House star has often been seen performing blues piano and guitar on the Fox show, and was even featured on the show's soundtrack, performing the Rolling Stones' 'You Can't Always Get What you Want' with Band from TV, a supergroup made entirely of actors, including Desperate Housewives' James Denton and Heroes' Greg Gunberg.

Laurie is scheduled to record the album this summer. He remarked: "I am drunk with excitement at this opportunity. I know the history of actors making music is a chequered one, but I promise no one will get hurt. I am particularly thrilled to be working with Joe Henry, who has produced some of my favourite records of all time, and I can't wait to get started."

Laurie, who is self-taught, has previously collaborated with Meat Loaf on a song entitled 'If I Can't Have You' from his 2010 album Hang Cool Teddy Bear.

Yep, because that makes people who are too lazy to fact check themselves post incorrect information.
