U2 Pull Out of Glastonbury
2010-05-25 by Nick Butler EMERITUS | 21 Comments
Following reports that U2 had cancelled shows to allow Bono to have surgery to correct a back injury, it has been reported that the band have now been forced to pull out of their scheduled Friday night headline slot at Glastonbury.

There is no official word yet on who will replace them, although Coldplay, Dizzee Rascal, Kings of Leon, and Madonna have all been suggested as possibilities, along with Kylie Minogue, who was forced to pull out of the 2005 festival herself after being diagnosed with cancer. Basement Jaxx filled in on that occasion.

Glastonbury kicks off this year on the 25th of June.

wow, this is pretty big news. they were easily the band to draw the most attention at this year's festival, except for maybe muse. i'll be interested to see who fills in. i would guess the killers but with flowers making a solo record and the band on hiatus probably not. radiohead perhaps?
