Bless the Martyr is overrated. Something more like O' God would please me. I think the band's only real problem is the repetitiveness. Makes albums hard to listen to.

I used to be a pretty big Norma Jean fan. :D Wow good times.

I actually thought Redeemer was pretty good.

Kinda stoked for this. Band's earlier stuff pretty good. People just write them off as another Botch copy (which is true to an extent on O'God, nothing else they made couldn't be related as much to Botch), doesn't really mean it sucks. Botch=awesome, Botch copy=pretty good.

Norma Jean is pretty bad ass, emphasis on bad.

In reference to the breakdowns, they have 'em sure. But they're so smooth you really don't notice the change in momentum.

Norma Jean don't play that many breakdowns.. and when they do, they don't CHUGGA CHUGGA like other bands. They're a really good band that simply could do better if they didn't repeat themselves so much (such as those one-line repeats over and over).

i believe underoath went Norma @the palaceofwisdom but I could be wrong. Redeemer came before define the great line which was underoath's turn-around album and every one of their cds before that was almost what the Chariot is now, just better put together in some areas. I don't like these bands at all really and am neutral, but I do have to say they started the whole "mainstream grind flannel touting scene kid" thing that pushed me away so much.
They were the stylists of a new generation and just started to get washed up while at the same time experimenting with their new found popularity.
I am interested, though, to see what happens next.

O'God The Aftermath was sooo fucking good, Bless The Martyr was decent, Redeemer was pree fun and Anti Mother was hella lame.

I'd be ridiculously happy with O' God or Bless The Martyr Part 2. Sadly, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be similar to the Anti-Mother from the one leaked song that I heard.

Well that album was partly influenced by Bless the Martyr, it wouldn't be as good as it turned out without it.

I like this band. I feel some botch jokes coming on though.

Their early stuff is average. I just find Redeemer and what i've heard from TAM awful.

O' God is great but it's a blatant Botch rip off, they won't ever sound like BTMAKTC again and The Anti Mother was just shit.

the chariot is better than anything josh scogin did with norma jean. just saying so i'm glad that split happened and despite the botch rip off it was still amazing.

Tbh being a clone of a band as well respected as Botch is always going to get you shit. But at least they wanted to copy somthing more original than end up as another Hatebreed/throwdown clone. They do have some pretty sweet songs but as eternium said repetitiveness really is the killer of the enjoyment of there albums.

it's a double edge sword honestly. repetitiveness can weigh a band down but at least I know what to expect from them. I personally do think that each album has sounded slightly different but I still do think they get more crap than warranted. they are one of the few bands that performed on fuel tv for instance that honestly sounded good. there are a lot of bands that have changed but for the worse. evolving is sometimes a tricky things most bands can't pull off so I don't mind when some don't

I don't know every band is gonna be copying some bands that came before them. I mean should we constantly shit on frodus and refused cuz they spent their entire carrers ripping off the nation of ulysses.

Anti mother was pretty disappointing, redeemer is one of my fav album by N.J. BTMKTC is good and OGTA is alright. Hopin they dont disapoint this time around

the vocalist sounds an awful lot like Josh Scogin on that leaked song except for the clean vocals, the anti mother wasnt that bad but it wasnt good at all, it was just average and BTMAKTC doesnt tickles my fancy at all

Idk. I think that they are pretty solid. Anything that is new with a twist of O' God would be great
