The Hold Steady's new album, Heaven Is Whenever, can now be streamed in full at NPR ahead of its May 4 release date.
How does this have 0 comments?? Sounds great so far.
Digging: Jon Hopkins - Immunity
Too much good stuff
ugh this leaked too i can't handle all this new shit
I'm getting nervous from this overload
Kirgy what do you think? I know you're so in love with Boys and Girls.
you'll have to wait for my review to find out, i'm building the suspense
Will said review be up yet today?
today, tomorrow, next week, WHO KNOWS
stop your nonsense
ok realistically i'll probably get it up this weekend cause i got 3000 words to write for uni by this friday and the assignment is so boring i think i can actually feel little chunks of my soul dying just by staring at the blank word document
plus, that way its closer to the release date anyway, cause we still got 2 weeks
well I think it rules, so THERE
This THS fanboy approves.
Digging: RVIVR - The Beauty Between
Never heard of them before, but this was really good.
WHAT THE FUCK WHY IS EVERYTHING GOOD COMING OUT AT ONCE
Whoa whoa whoa I am a day late here. Listening NOW.
Finding this stream is like being a fucking kid again on Christmas.
wow, if only I could stream music at work... alas, this and American Slang will have to wait until tonight. High Violet rules though.
Digging: Grave Miasma - Odori Sepulcrorum
Yeah, new Hold Steady, Drive By Truckers, National, and Gaslight within 2 months is unbelievable for me. Although the Truckers album was somewhat dissapointing.
+ Deftones + Dillinger - Truckers for me. insane.
Yeah Deftones is solid, best since White Pony. Not a fan of Dillinger.
I dunno about best since White Pony, self-titled is up there for me.. but it's really good. Can't wait to hear American Slang, hopefully the rest of the album is better than the title track, which was a little boring imo
have you heard the new gaslight anthem, hans? it rules
I haven't. Is it streaming?
Just got done listening to the whole thing for the first time. Overall, its damn good, not anywhere near Boys and Girls, but solid. I would say its on the level with Stay Positive and possibly Separation Sunday, and better than Almost Killed Me.
I miss Nicholay already however, and there are a few throw aways here, like Smidge, Slight Discomfort (except for the ending) Barely Breathing, and We Can Get Together. That said, Weekenders, Soft in the Center, Hurricane J, and Rock Problems fucking rule.
