You Say Party! Drummer Dies
2010-04-18 by Dr Dave De Sylvia STAFF | 39 Comments

Devon Clifford, drummer of Vancouver indie rock act You Say Party! We Say Die!, has died aged 31.

Clifford collapsed less than an hour into the band's gig at an all-ages show in Vancouver on Friday, April 16. He was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead today. The band broke the news of his death through their Twitter account late this evening.

The group's label, Paper Bag Records, formally broke the news: "It is with absolute sadness to report that our dear friend Devon Clifford, the drummer of You Say Party We Say Die, passed away last night in a Vancouver hospital surrounded by his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

"We request that we respect the family’s privacy during this incredibly difficult time, and thank you for your support."

"I assume somebody will steam in with a hilarious "We Say Die!" pun so I'll save you the trouble and just tell you in advance that it's neither original nor funny"

thats true but it still won't stop people

brain aneurysm

if that's true that's pretty fucked. you pretty much need to be in a hospital when that happens to you or you're pretty much dead.

I'm seriously wondering if the band will change their name. Perhaps shorten it to You Say Party!
