"Slipknot. Static-X. Mushroomhead. Winger. Stryper. Yanni. Enya. Shania Twain. Korn. Poison. Oingo Boingo. And even P.O.D.

What do all these acts have to do with Oceano? All these acts have constructed better metal music… and the vast majority of them don’t even play metal.

How is this possible? You see, while music is varied and diverse, all music still contains elements of composition. These acts have composition; they actually write songs… albeit shitty, mostly non-metal songs.

Oceano can’t write superior metal because the band can’t even write basic song structure required for music in general. Depths is over 44 minutes of damn near nothing but breakdowns interrupted periodically with rare sections of actual riffage. Let me reiterate this: you will sit here and listen to breakdowns for 44+ minutes. Nothing but break downs. For nearly 3/4 of an hour. And sometimes- sometimes- you’ll hear an attempt to make a song."

Took the nothing but breakdowns thing too far. Yes their songs consist of a shit load of them and they
can't right good songs, but the fact that he wasn't being sarcastic about the whole album being
breakdowns was retarded.

'The Precursor to Enslavement' reverse racism maybe?

I don't know bout their whole album being one large breakdown, but their whole entire set live was one breakdown inside another.

Nah, their guitarist left and joined hardcore band Thick As Blood. He was sick of only playing breakdowns, lol.

Oh, well Thick As Blood is sick live. They're from my hometown so they have a pretty good following here and awesome shows

It's hard for me to tell cause it's live and everything bleeds together a bit. But I liked Depths. Yeah, it wasn't very good, but damned if I didn't like it.
In retrospect, I think I got a little too into it, but still.
Excited for this album.

I think in my future reviews of deathcore bands, I'll just point to Oceano and say, they do what they do. Christ, listening to that shit makes me want to listen to The Contortionist. *flips on Eyes: Closed*
