Rammstein Banned In Belarus

German techno-rockers Rammstein have been banned from performing in the Belarusian capital Minsk, after local authorities declared their music to be propaganda for "violence, masochism, homosexuality and other abnormalities."
The eastern European country's Council For Morality ruled on the concert, scheduled to take place on March 7, on Monday. It expressed reservations that the band's music could "destroy the Belarusian state system" and that "permitting a Rammstein concert would be a costly mistake."
Belarus declared independence in 1991 following the collapse of the Soviet Union but has found tough going emerging from the cloud of the oppressive empire. The country has been ruled since 1994 by President Alexander Lukashenko, who has been referred to, derisively, as "Europe's last dictator."
Rammstein are no strangers to controversy. The lead single from their 2009 album Liebe Ist Für Alle, 'Pussy,' was accompanied by a hardcore video that featured all six members engaging in explicit sexual acts. A subsequent box set came "packaged" with six pink dildos molded from the band members' own penises.
Even the band's native country has taken a dim view of some of their activities. Liebe Ist Für Alle was added to Germany's Bundesprüfstelle Für Jugendgefährdende Medien (Federal Index Of Media That Is Harmful To The Youth), which essentially puts in on a par with X-rated movies and video games.

Funny thing is that Reise is my favourite album. Then there are a couple tracks from Rosenrot and the new one that I like. Not saying the albums are poor, they just didn't have as many songs that I enjoyed.
