Wentz Quits Fall Out Boy

2010-02-03 by doug | 57 Comments
Fall Out Boy bassist and chief songwriter Pete Wentz has indicated on Twitter that he will likely not return to the band.

In a lengthy Q&A session with fans, Wentz discussed the band's future with fans, stating "Don't you get it? A hiatus is forever until you get lonely or old. I don't plan on either. I can't imagine playing in FOB again. Something would have to change in my head or my heart ... not my wallet."

Wentz also stated that Fall Out Boy may continue with out him: "I don't know the future of Fall Out Boy. It's embarrassing to say one thing and then have the future dictate another. As far as I know Fall Out Boy is on break (no one wants to say the 'H' word.)

"As much as I don't have a solo project, I also can't predict that I'd ever play in Fall Out Boy again, not due to personal relationships as much as (that as) a band we grew apart."

Wentz being Wentz, he is likely to reverse this decision in approximately eight minutes.

After his guest appearance on the latest ETID album, I bet he wants to get back into metal... Roots.

He's still a fag, either way.

He's really not that bad. Take This To Your Grave was a good album, and Arma Angelus was a decent band back in the day. If he went back to his metalcore roots i wouldn't complain.

My guess is that he's at the age where he wants to be a respected and appreciated musician and create music that means more then just anthems for 12 year old girls. I give him props and think he has better things ahead of him including his side project with ETID and Anthrax.

lets be honest, he was the least talented musician in the group... his contributions, while not insignificant in the least, were overwhelmingly lyrical...

lol wentz and stump, the other dudes sound so much more down to earth:

Much like Wentz's proclamation, it would appear that Stump made his announcement without
consulting his bandmates ahead of time. Minutes after the Spin.com interview went live, FOB drummer
Andy Hurley took to his Twitter account, posting, simply, "I quit too." That was followed by a post
from guitarist Joe Trohman on his Twitter account, which read "I just did interviews with Span
Magazine, Rabbling Stone and Blunder about how much quitting I done."

They can always borrow Mark Hoppus they've been ripping off his bass-lines since their first album anyway

I don't see why the fat chicks should care since he's all chubby and Patrick lost weight now.

I personally believe that during the winter seasons, Pete decided to absorb Patrick's fat to stay warm during hibernation.

To be honest, I am not caring since we got TTTYG out of them and Cork Tree, which were easily their best releases. They just went downhill, never were going to go back to their roots either since they were enjoying the money.

Joe and Andy have a new band with Kieth from Everytime I die and Scott & Rob from Anthrax, which if goes good I doubt they'll return! Patrick could easily go and do his own thing, so that leaves Pete, who I think will just focus on... I don't know actually.. lol.
