^woulda still gone to charity...
| |
nice to see 800,000 facebook members doing exactly what they're told
| |
^woulda still gone to charity...
haha good point, first charity single i've bought
| |
^could be happy about money going to charity
also they took away miley's grammy nomination!
| |
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This has made me so happy I could do a jig.
| |
Awesome
| |
^could be happy about money going to charity
I am, one of the charity's was a musical development one, quite the opposite to manufactured x factor shite, so thats another bonus
| |
Only a portion of it went to charity. The rest goes towards tom morello's drugs and hookers lifestyle
| |
64K is pretty sizeable, no matter what the breakdown
| |
Really don't like the song, and think the campaign is kind of stupid and misguided. RATM said they'd do a free UK gig and are giving money to charity though, so can't fault them.
| |
Song is annoying and repetitive.
| |
wow omg so awesome, i never expected it to be pulled off. This just made my day.
| |
RATM said they'd do a free UK gig and are giving money to charity though, so can't fault them.
OMG when?
| |
FUCK YEAH
| |
i brought it, cant wait for the free show!
| |
Whether or not I like the song, which in this case I only mildly do, this whole thing cracked me up from the start and kudos to everyone involved for making it happen.
| |
3 Downloads means I can Smile about this
| |
haha sweet.
| |
Killing In The Name Of Christmas?
| |
this is brilliant
| |
fuck yeah
| |
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!
| |
Peace to all at Christmas time
| |
^^^ Shut the fuck up mr. negative.
| |
Why do so many people not 'get' what's so good about this happening?
| |
Haha, cool. Glad it worked.
| |
@bodies most people do, but a few are just expressing that they're weary of the double standards underlying RATM's lyrical themes...and how people carry these to unreasonable/inapplicable/self-contradictory lengths
| |
I'm so happy this worked out. In other news I like the headgear academy.
| |
Proud to be British today.
| |
thx, romg
| |
Kickass!
Go Rage. I would like to have a new album from them, at some point... But let's not open that can of worms.
| |
Nice!
I never heard of X Factor till this petition. pretty sweet they're still kickin' ass
| |
would be cool if it was the blood brothers
| |
hahaha This is the best thing i've ever read here. Gonna go blast the album right now...
| |
good song, great band
| |
haha X Factor pussies get shown what music is all about
| |
Can't believe it actually worked. Plus they raised a whole load of cash for Shelter aswell. Pretty goood.
| |
Did RATM ever comment on this at all?
| |
Yeah they've given lots of interviews and performed the song on the radio

Be-Defeated'
| |
I don't really care for RATM but this is badass. Way to go fans.
| |
Cheers Poop
| |
I am sure more people chipped in when they went against the BBC and swore anyway. They stuck to what they believe in and said fuck it. Gotta give it to them.
| |
maybe this will remind RATM why the world needs them and they'll stop all this "Nightwatchman", side-project, dick suckin bullshit
| |
I've been watching this thing since its inception, and bought a copy, so I can safely say I had a part in this. It makes me so happy that people rebelled and overturned a huge monopolistic system, and RATM is the perfect band to represent this movement. :D
| |
^ that!
| |
pretty cool
| |
Yeah, tis cool.
| |
cool
more money for apple
| |
apple?
| |
Oh wow they kicked some ass.
| |
orange you glad i didnt say bananana LOL
| |
lol ur manic today, rob
| |
Dave fails for hating RATM. Should probably just go autoerotic asphyxiate himself while listening to crappy Butch Walker.
| |
Maybe this is just the cynic in me talking but it seems the only thing that was really accomplished is that the Sony Corporation just doubled its profit with this...I'm sure the guy who won is going to be just fine regardless. You can't overturn a corporation whilst simultaneously feeding it...
| |
wow this is awesome
| |
fuck yeah thats so cool
| |
hahah soo good
| |
I was playing Killing... on the drums just a moment, so I'd like to think I contributed something...
This is cool, even if it's hypocritical at the same time.
| |
Wasn't really expecting this to work.
| |
I was worried I hadn't bought enough copies
| |
people power CAN work, maybe we should apply this to more important things too?
| |
people power CAN work, maybe we should apply this to more important things too?
So true
| |
This is cool, even if it's hypocritical at the same time.
lolwat
| |
the Sony Corporation just doubled its profit with this
Everybody knows, nobody cares
| |
Would be good if it was The Blood Brothers.
^seconded.
| |
This is cool, even if it's hypocritical at the same time.
lolwat lolwat
| |
Everybody knows, nobody cares
But...that automatically defeats the purpose of this entire thing...gah whatever...
| |
The Battle continues !
| |
awesome that this worked...too bad a good song or band couldn't have been chosen....
| |
agreed with that it could've been something better. but it worked because it made everyone seem like they weren't just pretending to be really angry, cos the song itself was angry.
fuck you ah wont do what ya told me
| |
Joe McElderry and his cover of Miley Cyrus' 'The Climb.'
People actually cover this shit?
GOOD JOB RAGE YOU GUYS BEAT OUT THOSE POP FUCKERS YEAH. Show those pop panzies how we roll.
| |

| |
MrPoopular is Wizard today
I love you hahahahaha.
| |
SOOOO awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
| |
this was really incredible as i have been a part of this from the start:
Cheers to John/Tracey.... i have never seen such organized retalitation before.... last week was sooo amazing on the group..... proud of humanity... but i doubt this will ever happen again
| |
Simply fantastic, I also have been watching this grow, and watching the numpty's from Radio 1 gradualy being forced to take it seriously. Great win for music lovers everywhere.
I can also remeber someone on this site stating "I can't believe how nieve some people are, this will never work". lol
Thank god it did.
| |
all this proves is loads of people think their music taste is better than a load of other people's - kinda sad tbh
| |
tru tho uhh the climb no thanks
| |
No it doesnt Dha, it shows that people of had enough of constantly churned out, karaoke singers. It has also stopped the monopoly of them having x-mas number one. Plus the monopoliing of the market through advertising and t.v was beaten by a private led campaign sponsered by the people who wanted it. Not the other way round.
| |
yes but they only did it because they don't like pop music, if it had been ratm at number 1 for the past 4 years they wouldnt have made a campaign. the only reason x factor had a monopoly is because more people bought it than anything else - hardly the great injustice its being made out to be
| |
Yes. But it would never be ratm at no.1 because the market is so controlled by a minority, that bands like Rage cannot break into it. What music is there is controlled, knowbody was going to get no.1 apart from the x-factor without a private campaign. It's not the genre, it's the control of who can domintae the market that was rebelled against.
| |
simon cowell doesn't control anything - he's successful because he makes music that a lot of people like - it's not a minority controlling the charts when you consider most music in the charts is closer to X Factor stuff than RATM style stuff
| |
Well I would argue that he does- who has got x-mas number 1 for the past four years?
| |
yes thats because hes made the most popular xmas number 1 for the past four years - thats not "control" its "making music a lot of people like" theres a difference
| |
Yes, but how did those people come to here or 'like' the music? Because it is thrown at them from the media from all angles. You cannot get away from it, other music does not get a look in. That is the manopoly. How many months is it stretched out on t.v?
| |
so? he's not doing anything wrong just because someone hears something doesnt mean they like it. i watched x-factor every week but im 99% sure i wont enjoy joe mcelderry's album. people have free will and enjoy what they like, simon cowell isnt controlling their minds or anything.
