No one cares except for me, but I'm posting it anyway.
| |
No, these guys are pretty good from what i've heard so there's one more who cares
| |
I'm looking forward to it, but I'm definitely hoping for some electronic elements.
| |
I've only heard a couple things by them, but you're right. Only about a quarter of those went down the trip hop road
| |
Their first three albums have a lot of trip hop elements (the older the album, the more trip hop).
| |
Might have to find find me some of their albums
| |
My personal suggestion is "Weather". It's kind of on the poppy side, but it's the perfect blend of trip-hop and pop.
| |
so am i a total moron for not knowing what the heck trip-hop is?
| |
I'll look into it, thank you Willie
| |
Oh, hey Stan!
Wiki it if ya want
| |
so am i a total moron for not knowing what the heck trip-hop is? No, it's not like that style is represented on the radio or anything. I'd suggest Daughter Darling - Sweet Shadows, Massive Attack - Mezzanine, and Portishead - Dummy as good places to start.I'll look into it, thank you Willie No problem. There's a review for that album (Weather) so if you do check it out post there and let me know what you think. If you do like Lunik I'd suggest you listen to that Daughter Darling album too.

sup Melissa
haha wow i just wiki'd it...forgive me, but it sounds absolutely horrid. or at least definitely not my thing. lol
if you wanted to try to convince me i'm wrong though...what album or song would you rec? (by this artist or any other). i may be surprised, who knows.
| |
oh wow...thanks for answering my question before i asked it Willie. haha
| |
I'm no expert on the genre at all but Endtroducing by DJ Shadow is amazing!
| |
Yeah, as far as instrumental trip hop goes that's a great place to start. Something similar to that is Blue Sky Black Death - Late Night Cinema and PSY/OPSogist - Suffused With Static
| |
Willie, would you consider Unkle trip hop? Their early stuff anyway.
| |
cool! i'll check it out, and your rec's too Willie. the description on Wiki sounded like just the type of thing i wouldn't like, but i've been surprised before. i'll certainly give 'em a listen.
| |
Willie, would you consider Unkle trip hop? Their early stuff anyway.
Unkle is classic trip-hop. Pysence Fiction is essential.
| |
Cool. The album Dreams recommended is instrumental and the three I suggested (in my original response to you) have vocals so you may like one style and not the other.
Edit: Oops, that's to ScorpionStan...
| |
Cheers Prophet. Wait....Prophet?
| |
I just listened to a few tracks from that Pysence Fiction album again (hadn't listened to it in forever) and I need to throw it on again.
| |
Yeah, that album is amazing. Mostly Shadow's handiwork though
| |
Yeah, made me want to listen to it again too, great album.
| |
There's a lot of good trip-hop albums out there, but there are definitely a lot of duds too. I've found a lot of good stuff through last.fm recommendations (and a few users' lists here).
| |
I honestly think Lovage - Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady by is my favorite trip hop album, Jennifer's vocals are sexy, the duo songs with Patton are perfect and Dan's DJ tracks are great too, plus the interludes which are hilarious.
| |
You seem different Prophet.
| |
Prophet178 got banned for 2 weeks, so Prophet179 is filling in.
| |
Never heard of Lovage, will have to check them out... and reccomend last.fm to all that do not use it.
Yeah, Prophet... you're different today. Haircut maybe?
| |
yeah everyone here should rock last.fm. Heard a few tracks from Lovage as I dig the Patton, but haven't heard anything from this band. Will give it a look, got a few buddies trying to break me into the genre
| |
"so am i a total moron for not knowing what the heck trip-hop is? "
well you are a total moron i can vouch for that
| |
oh shut your mouth Mordecai, you don't know me.
| |
lol mordecai wins, as usual
i like the genre but i've never heard of the band...ill check it out when i get some time
| |
Like I warned the other guy, this band is more poppy than your average trip hop group, and only their first three albums are trip-hop.... a little less trip-hop and a little more pop with each subsequent album (and none starting with the fourth album).
