Fall Out Boy On Break

2009-11-16 by Oliver | 45 Comments
According to Andy Hurley's Twitter account, Fall Out Boy are to take a break once their greatest hits compilation is released. He earlier stated that the band were going on hiatus:

"everyone, when i say im recording, its with burning empires. fob is on hiatus. for real"

After a few websites exploded with activity and rummors, he posted again to clarify that he meant they were taking a break:

"everyone, when i said fob was on hiatus, i didnt mean hiatus. i meant break. which is what i understood hiatus to mean."

That would have been a shame if they had called it quits. Their recent stuff isn't terrible at all.

@ theacademy: No idea, I looked in the booklet for Folie A Duex as its on my desk but it didnt say. So, either the drummer or guitarist.

Guess I'll go back to listening to "Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown" for the next two years.

He also plays drums in Burning Empires (as he also said). A hardcore band with him, Ryan Morgan (Misery Signals), Stu Ross (Misery Signals), and Mixon.

Don't care about them being on break but I'm interested in this Burning Empires project...Hurley has always been the only member of FOB I've really liked...well Stump's ok I guess...

hopefully this break is good for them, they could benefit from readjusting their current approach.

He did it because a lot of bands these days use the word interchangeably with "break-up."

Well-deserved. The short time between IOH and FAD was way quick, and if they try to crank anything else out anytime soon it'll be boosh.

Yesss. Now they just have to break up, and then we'll have one less god-awful pop-punk band.

Pete Wentz sucks.
As does everything after Cork Tree.

Patrick should totally start a skramz side band.
Just sayin'.
