Elvis' Grandson on Universal

2009-10-04 by K. Prince | 41 Comments
Ben Presley, grandson of the legendary Elvis Presley, is about to be snatched up by record company Universal Records.

Born 15 years after The King's death, the teenage child of Lisa Marie Presley has his eyes set for the stars - he's been offered a $5 million deal by the company to make up to five albums. Ben loyally promises that his record will sound "nothing like Elvis, nothing like him at all" and wishes for it to be released some time in 2010. It's all about who you know.

"He's a typical 17 year-old," says his spokesman. "He doesn't get up before midday and then grunts at you."

obviously gonna be a masterpiece.

you know you'll feel like shit if he actually manages to pull some really good albums out of his ass.

Yes, but we'd all prefer it if he made some really good albums without posthumous help.

i'm slightly confused as to what you are trying to say, cuz you state it like zombie elvis is helping his grandson make music.

Meaning, from all accounts he got a record deal because of his last name

Jesus's accoustic album wasn't too great, but that Disciples rap album was pretty nice. Judas had some lyrical skills i have to admit.

Yeah Judas was all time. Although I do think that John the Baptist's production work had a lot to do with the quality of that album.
All being said I still think Jesus' best work was on his Empire of the Prodigal Sun side project.

Lol @ this news, by "nothing like his music" I'm hoping it isn't some type of cheesy rap alongside the likes of say, Vanilla Ice or Kevin Federline. Lulz.

Imagine being a band that earns their living through their music and seeing this...has to be extremely discouraging. Also, I'm no expert here, but what's a typical record deal like for an good, established band?

My guess is that it's NOT 5 million dollars.
