wow nice call on #47, Archangel by Burial.
| |
Thats like the worst Outkast song ever.
| |
21. kelly clarkson - since u been gone
| |
pitchfork acknowledges good pop music
| |
Some really odd choices. I don't know plenty of these songs.
| |
I am completely disappointed in the lack of pop-punk on the entire list. Not even Green Day, which should have been a shoe in at least somewhere on a list like this.
But it was well put together.
| |
^ Kinda agree. List was actually surprisingly, consistently well put together. I forgot how much I liked B.O.B. *downloads Stanktonia*
| |
OutKast/"B.O.B." rule, so I'm not outrageously upset 'bout the choice.
| |
more like Bitchfork
| |
Yeah. They basically focused on indie/alt, pop, hip hop and nothing more.
I'm glad that at least McLusky and Shellac made the cut.
| |
That list was such bullshit. It was just them trying to mix pop acts in with their pretentious list of elite indie bands. The end of the list had better tracks than the top 20.
I can't wait to see how hard they fuck up the top albums of the decade.
| |
I only ran through it quickly but I think "Blood and Thunder" in the 290s is the only metal song on the list. I didn't expect metal to be extremely prevalent on the list, but only one song? That's kind of ridiculous.
| |
sleeping giant by mastodon is also on the list
| |
Needs more Indie and Jay Z.
| |
song is incredible tbh
| |
Nice to see they included Smog, I'm a big fan.
| |
I've never seen the big deal about the song, not bagging it, i've just never thought it was that good.
| |
I think Outkast deserves it.
That song is way ahead of its time and so energetic.
Stankonia is such a great album.
| |
Hey Ya was a better song.
| |
List reminds me I need to download some Outkast

^^Nailed it, although there are a few songs I did agree with (less than 10)
| |
loved seeing all my friends at number 2 and my girls at 9
| |
Stankonia might be Outkast's 4th best record.
| |
isn't that like the best album ever according to metacritic? I feel like I should get it but the consensus here seems to be that aquemini and atliens are better
| |
I was disappointed that Your Hand In Mine wasn't on the list, yet the other Explosions in the Sky song, First Breath After Coma was (another incredible song, but still). The Microphones - The Moon was too low (382). Happy to see Mountain Goats had two spots (The Best Ever Death Metal Band Out Of Denton [230] and No Children [128]). Surprised they included At The Drive-In - One Armed Scissor [255]. Bon Iver - Skinny Love was far too low (beat fucking HOLLABACK GIRL by a spot and a Los Campesinos! song was higher, come on.) Props for Shellac - Prayer To God, Animal Collective - 'Grass' and 'Fireworks' was about right. Top ten was decent.
All-in-all, pretty predictable
| |
No way Stankonia is better than ATLiens.
| |
I'm guessing that false was for me.
Maybe it's a difference in age, but I'd be surprised if anyone that was in high school when ATLiens came out would find Stankonia better. ATLiens was so much memorable, songs like ATLiens, 2 Dope Boys, Wheels of Steel, and Elevators are classics.
| |
Biggest surprise ommissions on the list were "The Glow Pt. 2" (as others have said) but also "Frontier Psychiatrist" (they raved about that song/album and it's easily the best track on Since I Left You imo. The debate over which Outkast album is kinda pointless since it's a top song list. Oftentimes, the best songs are on weaker albums. Plus B.O.B. topped the list for it representing American politics from the past decade just as much as for being a good song.
| |
Yeah, I wasn't directing that at you chamber. Just meant in general.
| |
That's not what I'm saying at all. Of course it's coincidental, it was released a year before 9/11. Despite that fact, it still summed up the decade pretty well, whether intentionally or not.
| |
would've liked to see Roses on the list, as well as International Players Anthem being higher.
Fireworks and My Girls should swap.
| |
ms. jackson is way better than B.O.B. IMO
| |
nah, B.O.B. is way better
| |
yeah International Players Anthem should be way higher, that song is amazing
| |
never fuck without a rubbaaaah
| |
never on the sheets, like it on top of the cover
| |
Stankonia might be Outkast's 4th best record.
this and then some. Beats that two disc where Big Boi finally gave up trying to compete with Andre though, by a long shot.
| |
such a fuckin good song
