Nick Oliveri Solo Album Details 2009-08-06 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 7 Comments | Former Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri will release his debut solo album Death Acoustic on October 6.
According to the press release announcing the release, Oliveri "has found time to play intimate, solo acoustic shows. Just him and his guitar, blending songs he has written for the bands he has played in, specifically written songs for the solo shows, and well chosen covers."
It goes on: "Death Acoustic is the result of these efforts; Oliveri spent the last twelve months in his home studio recording tracks for his solo album. In October it is unleashed with touring to back it up across the world over the last few months of this year and into next year."
Oliveri has also recorded a guest appearance for guitarist Slash's upcoming solo album Slash & Friends.

This could be interesting.
Needs to get back into Qotsa so they can make killer music again.
| | | Maybe he will perform naked at some of his solo shows
| | | I wonder if the name is a take on Metallica's latest album, though probably not. Good to see Nick getting up off his ass.

didn't care much for this, however that statement made me happy.
QOTSA are fine without him, Lullabies was a brilliant album and era vulgaris was weird in a fun way.
| | | I was all excited until I saw the album title. I hope that is a play on Metallica and not a genuine atempt.
| | | anybody else think Oliveri looks like a tool in that picture?
| | | A pretty big tool
