So the record is like 98.7% done. Yessir. We did it! Finally....
We are so stoked on it. We all agree that Bad Luck (by leaps and bounds) is the best recording of our career.
Bad Luck is extremely lush and thoroughly bluesy. At times the blues are haunting and sad; at others they are raucous and sleazy. The record will contain 10-12 tracks depending on how everything fits after sequencing... which means it will be roughly 55 minutes or so.
We tracked 95% of the record at Backroom Studios in Rockaway, NJ (We love you Kevin!). The piano was tracked at Designed Like Dice Studios formerly in Georgia.
Then we went to Portrait Recording studios in Pompton Plains, NJ to have the whole thing mixed and treated by Chris Badami (our producer over the last 5 years). He also agrees that this is our most exceptional album to date. (We love you Chris!)
Graphic artist, Jason Oda (whom many of you may already know him from the infamous online "Emo Game" or brilliant album art for bands like Lydia, Further Seems forever, etc.), is at helm for album artwork. It looks magical already. We will post the cover art when it is completely finished.
Although it has taken about three months to really do this thing properly - it has been a wonderful experience and we couldn't be more humbled by everyone involved with Bad Luck. Thank you to all of our guest musicians, all of our friends and family, and especially Kevin Antreassian, Camille Olivier, Chris Badami, Jason Oda, Aneel De Albuquerque, and Nigel Silverthorn for being totally down ass dudes.
We are currently planning to do some shows in the Northeast region of the United States. We will be playing a wealth of Bad Luck. We will be label hunting for a little bit and mastering the record in the coming months. Expect some new merch designs and a song or two to come up on our Myspace/Purevolume page. Also, there will be other cool things coming in the near, near future.
On a side note: AJ Hanson is no longer a part of Trophy Scars and we will miss him dearly. We wish him the best of luck with all of his future endeavors and shenanigans we all have come to love. Good luck buddy!
Keep checking in. More news to come super shortly!!!
Enjoy life,
Jer

^ Umm, what?
no no. i agree with him/her. compared to their debut the last was bleeding out.
| | | Compared to their EPs, all their albums are bleeding out.
| | | They only really have one legit full length album.
I'm excited
| | | ^are you talkin bout hospitals?
| | | No they have two full lengths. Darts to the Sea and Alphabet. Alphabets..
| | | but which does he consider legit? oh broken convos
| | | I don't know whether or not to get excited about this. I really didn't like Alphabet. Alphabets.
| | | Alphabets was the one I thought was legit, I forgot that Dart to the Sea wasn't compiled of demos and what not.
| | | I hope this is better than Alphabets, otherwise TheRealJerryJones will come back to yell at DFelon some more when he reviews it poorly.
| | | alphabets creamed all over darts to the sea
| | | Whoops, i was thinking of Hospital Music
| | | alphabets creamed darts?
do your homework.
alphabets is atrocious compared to darts
