Fever Ray Drops New Single

2017-10-20 by the strange autumnal pleasure of 5-ing a 3.5 | 39 Comments
More than eight years since her self-titled debut, Swedish electro-witch Fever Ray is back.

The lead single from her as-yet unnamed sophomore record is "To The Moon and Back." Full of busy, technicolour synth work, fans may find the track closer to Karin's work in The Knife, rather than anything off of her sparse solo album.

Will the rest of the album be more subdued? Or has Karin abandoned nocturnal ambience for a more tense, Shaking The Habitual-esque sound? At this point, we can only guess.

Check out the song, and its eye-popping music video, below.

This a coming out song?

It's good, even if it is quite different to the debut album.

I take from it that sexual pervison is programmed into you. Created, Debauched and Disposed.

Hasn't she been openly queer forever?

She's always been queer af yeah, but I guess this is a more open statement about her embracing her sexuality.

This wouldn't have felt too out of place on the last Knife record, not sure how I feel about it as a Fever Ray single yet though

I share the sentiment that this doesn't feel like a Fever Ray piece, but hey I'll keep optimistic. It's not bad in its own right.

“Ram” I hate it, she’s making open admissions to sexual assault!!!
“Run” I love it, she’s so open about her sexuality, the courage!!!

Sounds a bit like one of the weaker cuts on 'Deep Cuts', not majorly in love with this.

Also like it when she sounds the least like a Bjork clone (like on 90% of 'Silent Shout').
