New Jay-Z Album

2017-06-20 by I have an awful memory of a high school ex sitting on my baby blue vinyl of The Dusk In Us lmao | 34 Comments
New York Hip Hop legend Jay-Z is set to release 4:44 on June 30th. 4:44 will be Jay-Z's thirteenth studio album, his first since 2013's Magna Carta Holy Grail. June has been a busy month for Jay, with the album coming right on the heels of him being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, as well as his wife giving birth to twins. The album will be released exclusively on Tidal.

Why would anybody even take the time to pirate this or listen to it on youtube?

People like him for his status, not his output.

when your wife having twins is the only reason you're relevant in the news, it's time to hang it up, but no, this guy keeps making albums nobody is asking for

His last album did 528k copies first week so based on that I'm pretty sure people will be listening to this album

Jay-Z's legacy has always been about him making money, not artistic integrity.

true, but there was a long-ass stretch when that was an end in itself.. it was fantastic how pragmatically open he was about it.. by now, he just sounds like a babbling cunt..

I agree, but I can't fault him for continuing to release new music when there is a seriously illogical amount of people who still want it.

I'm not his biggest fan and find him overrated (I laugh whenever someone calls him one of the top five or top ten emcees), but no doubt this will be hugely successful like almost every one of his albums. I'll give it a listen, he's done some good tracks over the past decade since "retiring".
