Simone's vocals are really dull here, not in a good way either. That said, it's a pretty powerful albeit straightforward song, more straightforward than I'm used to from this ban.

I was sure the second single would be a poppier one. Wasn't disappointed. It gets better and better towards the end.

considering how good Quantum Enigma was, I'm expecting a disappointment. Who knows, maybe there will be a few surprises in the end.

Toon, dude, (pun fully intended) reviews so far say it's equal to its predecessor, plus, it revisits some themes from their first albums. So far, it's bombastic, interested to see how it sounds like.

"it revisits some themes from their first albums"

their first albums are their worst so that's not a good sign =/

Hmm, I could accept such a statement for TPA, but not for CTO or TDC. Those albums were stunning.

But TPA had songs such as Cry for the Moon, Seif Al Din, Feint and the awesome Run for a Fall. C'mon, all Epica albums have something to offer!

not their first two.

The Quantum Enigma was their first album I legitimately loved.

Cry for the Moon has one of the worst harsh vocals I've ever heard, album is not good. The rest of their albums are worth listening to however.

Design Your Universe is still their best

the growls never were the strong part of Epica for quite some time. But, that doesn't mean the songs as compositions are bad.
