Oooh still need to listen to their other 2000s stuff but this seems cool.
| |
still need to listen to them
seriously tho where should i start they seem good
| |
Bug, don't listen to anyone who says otherwise
but if you like Bug, immediately check You're Living All Over Me after it.
| |
first three are good rest is not worth your time
| |
oooOOO
| |
I've heard all of their 80s and 90s stuff and on the whole I agree, except I like Green Mind too
| |
Awesome news. From the 2000s stuff, Beyond is good. From the 90s, I really like Where You Been.
| |
cover art is amazing
| |
Blinding!!
| |
All their albums are at least okay, but Bug, Beyond, and You're Living All Over Me will always be the best in my mind
| |
Album art is pretty cool yeah, stoked for this.
| |
j mascis
| |
Every album sounds the same
| |
^ that is not true at all (although tbf the last three have sounded the same)
| |
First four albums rule so do the last three
| |
great album cover tbh
| |
"Every album sounds the same"
to a great degree, yes
| |
"Every album sounds the same"
Apparently you havent listened to Dinosaur. But yeah, first 3 albums are essential. After that its pretty hit and miss, though i do like Beyond and Farm is one of my favorites.
| |
don't believe the haters, most of their albums are great, including the last three
| |
I Bet On Sky was really boring for me.
| |
"Farm is one of my favourites"
Finally someone who feels the same. I bloody love Farm.
| |
yeah i actually like it more than Bug, its right behind You're Living All Over Me and Dinosaur. little to no filler on that album, the songwriting is some of the best Mascis has ever done, and it switches between moods so effectively. also it has some of my favorite solos.
| |
yeah Farm rules
| |
Based on the album cover I hope the album takes a new super psychedelic direction
| |
Farm is fantastic, but I Bet on Sky felt like they were phoning it in most of the way through. J's subsequent solo album was more of the same, the spark just seems to not be there anymore. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, I'll give it a shot and will be happy to enjoy it.
| |
New Jr!!! SPLOOOOSH
Farm is my jam
| |
you're living all over me is better than bug.
| |
that's kinda obvious.
| |
Bug is my favorite
| |
"seriously tho where should i start they seem good"
Definitely You're Living All Over Me, but if you want to check out their later stuff Farm is also a good choice.
That cover art is pretty dope.
| |
Great group fuck yoy bitches
| |
It will sound like all the other recent shit though I wish they still had an "edge" like when they were young and sad and angry. I refuse to believe mascis is actually as depressed as he acts
| |

New tune is great
| |
link? googled for a new song, i dont see anything.
| |
I-Tunes dude.
| |
ahh. yeah, it sounds alright. more of the same.
| |
Been doing the same stuff for 30yrs. Impossible not to dig.
| |
Boring tune, hope for something better on the album - one of those bands I'm never sure I really need yet another album of the same but they usually just about win me over, I didn't bother with their last album though
| |
first 3, Beyond, and Farm are all you really need imo.
| |
I'd agree with that
| |
I don't know...I'm a real sucker for where you been.
| |
This is my experience with Where you been:
Listen to Out there. Repeat.
| |
Start Choppin' is a classic tune too.
| |
can't wait for this
| |
Where you been is sweet but it does sound kinda tame and "college/alternative rock" compared to the original 3. Those 90s records are pretty much j solo records so he really needs Lou and murph to get heavy
| |
Doesn't make the 90s records any less good, I enjoy them a lot. You can hear heavy echoes of that writing style in what the band's been up to since regrouping with the original line-up.
The new tune feels even more phoned in than I Bet on Sky, but on the other hand I didn't think much of Farm's "lead single" either and look how that turned out. Still, it's a sad day if the best thing about the song is the splash of glitchy fuzz oscillation at the end.
| |
Last 3 comeback albums have been really solid - guess I'm looking forward to this
| |
really disappointed w this song
| |
New song is kind of meh
