Dashboard Confessional return

2016-05-20 by NordicMindset | 9 Comments
Dashboard Confessional have released their first new song in seven years, entitled "May". It is the first track that the Florida emo band have released since their sixth studio album, Alter the Ending, in 2009. Frontman Chris Carrabba has stated his desire for the band to return to their original acoustic roots.

God, his vocals sound so strained and bad in this.
Definitely not something to come back with after all these years.

I mean I get his point trying to come back now because this type of music is starting to get more mainstream attention again; but this is just painful to listen to. There's nothing really catchy about it, it's mixed terribly, and his voice just sounds destroyed.

Time has not treated Carrabba well. This sounds like a demo.

Am I the only one who realizes this is a live recording of this song? I agree his voice is a little strained in this but he's been touring for the last like four years in his band "Twin Forks" and he can fucking sing like none other live. He backs away from the mic during some songs and his voice fills the room.
