The Resistance lose guitarist

2016-03-31 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 3 Comments
The Resistance's founding guitarist and former In Flames member Jesper Strömblad has left the group following the release of their new album, "Coup de Grâce". Citing his ongoing struggles with clinical depression, he has followed fellow founding member/In Flames guitarist Glenn Ljungström, who left at the end of 2015. In a statement released by the band, the split was amicable and the group wishes him well in his recovery. While Daniel Antonsson (ex-Soilwork, ex-Dark Tranquility, Dimension Zero) has been brought in to replace Ljungström, a second guitarist has yet to be announced.

The band's probably gonna sound pretty different now it's lost its two key songwriters.

Glenn Ljungström has quit just about every band he's ever been in. I Definitely wouldn't let him in my band.

I feel bad for Jesper though, he's been struggling with depression for years.

Will be interesting to see what direction The Resistance takes with Daniel writing the songs now (presumably). Good luck to Jesper too in his recovery and future projects.
