Lemmy leaves stage

2015-09-02 by Tunaboy45 | 48 Comments
Lemmy of the legendary rock band Motorhead left the stage mid-performance in Austin, Texas after telling fans "I can't do it". He later returned to apologise before calling the show off. The fans were supportive of their hero, screaming "we love you!".

The band have since issued a statement, claiming that it was "DIRECT follow-on from the altitude issues in Colorado, and clearly, Lemmy tried to get back at it too quickly".

Let's hope for a speedy recovery, footage like this is just plain depressing because it reminds us that even icons are mortal.

He needs to take a break and get better. Oh well, he will always be a legend.

Sad to see him this way though.

He probably knew before the tour was booked that he wouldn't be able to complete it and just wanted as much cash as he could grab.
God damn, I'm cynical sometimes.

It may be a bad day, or it might be his illness finally catching up with him. Whatever it is, he needs to take it easy. The guy's got nothing left to prove (He did that like 30+ years ago).

His lifestyle is finally catching up to him. Let's be honest, with the way he lives he's on borrowed time.

They should play like 10-15 gigs per tour leg, not 30-40 like before. Play a couple of weeks, take some time off and so on. It's very hard for him at this age and with the health issues to perform show after show for one-two months in a row.

I give props to an audience that understood. But quite a few fans will be mad. And they will have a right to be mad when they are getting only 25% of the show they paid for.
