finally a new Slayer tune that's actually HEAVY unlike the abysmally not-heavy tunage on WPB.
I mean as a slow groover that song doesn't do much but it at least assures me the rest of the album will be heavy, which was one of the main reasons why their last album was boring.

I actually quite like it. Despite early concerns, album is shaping up to be a solid 3-3.5.

3-3.5 is pretty generous tbh. It's barely making a 3 for me.

I've heard like 3 or 4 songs (I thought). Album sounds safe, but should turn out satisfying. "Unleash" was a good choice for the article title

Song is really safe and pretty dull tbh, not enough to thrash and those drums are way too fucking loud.

Wow, the production on this is absolutely terrible. As for the song, it's okay I guess but pretty boring still.

They 'unleash' a rehashed formula that is dated and stuck in 1994.

"finally a new Slayer tune that's actually HEAVY unlike the abysmally not-heavy tunage on WPB."

Reign in Blood was in half step down tuning which isn't considered a "heavy" tuning at all....

the overall recording quality made it sound good the way it was, though. But idk why you're bringing up Reign when I was talking about World Painted Blood, which had terrible production and guitars that neither sounded aggressive nor powerful. These guitars at least have some meat on them--which means that when the rest of the songs on the album actually decide to get thrashy, they should at least sound thrashy.

pretty sure he was referring to the songs as tunes and not the actual guitar tuning

This is the best single so far, for what that's worth. The riff change and soloing halfway through was great.

"I've heard like 3 or 4 songs (I thought)."
Implode and When the Stillness comes have reworked versions on the final album, so the versions that were released a few months ago don't count as official singles; the title track was the first official single.

"Why is everyone so salty?"
