i mean yeah I love TGA but lol Get Hurt
| |
Kinda saw it coming tbh
| |
Man, I really fell out of love with this band shortly after Handwritten -- I used to be a die hard TGA fan. Their bland radio rock is just not what I'm looking for anymore. Would rather see Brian's lyricism put to use in on of his many side projects, which I'm sure is what he'll do.
| |
probably for the best. Hopefully they take a few years off and come back much more inspired
| |
I'm actually a bit sad, but they'll be recharged after this and hopefully make a great record. Or you know, more Horrible Crowes
| |
dang, was just jamming the 59' sound the other day
| |
One of my favorite bands, so this is rough. Looking forward to the side projects and potential future (hopefully improved) efforts though, as the last couple albums haven't been up to their early standards.
| |
For whatever reason, their last three records have been decreasing in quality. Good idea; take a break, spend some time in the caves of Iceland,
and pen the opus black metal opera that we all know they're capable of.
| |
Yeah, the obvious next step in their career trajectory.
| |
Get Hurt sucked ass, so this might be a good thing.
| |
horrible band breaks up
good
| |
If a break is what it takes to make another album as good as 59 Sound, then I'm all for it.
| |
Overrated band.
| |
/ highly overrated
| |
good for them, guys seemed really washed up and uninspired when I saw them a couple weeks ago
| |
"We'd like to recharge and take a step back until we have something we feel excited about rather than going right back to making a record just for the sake of making the next record."
as much as i hate Handwritten and Get Hurt, i have to respect these guys. i thought they were in it for the money at this point, but it looks like they just stopped knowing how to write good music.
| |
well they only really ever had one idea tbh
| |
true enough.
| |
we need another horrible crowes record.
| |
at least theyre self-aware
| |
I feel like this is a band that became "cool to hate". I didn't care much for Get Hurt like a lot of folks, but even after American Slang it seemed like I started to basically hear "It's not 59 sound so whatever." I've always thought they were good story tellers and wrote really relatable music. I do think this is for the best tho.
| |
actually i think the reaction came from their transition to boring radio rock with bland lyrics.
| |
jesus 59 Sound is 7 years old... damn
| |
Good, their last album was shite, need to rethink things for sure
| |
good decision. last two albums have been meh. theyve too much potential for that.
| |
we need another horrible crowes record.
^ This, hard.
| |
You gotta be FUCKING ME. They just came by to my city and I didn't go because they always play here.
| |
I think I'm the only one here who thought Handwritten and Get Hurt were both excellebt releases, and a very good continuation of their previous works.
| |
What happened to them is kinda like if Bruno Mars' first song was Uptown Funk.
59' Sound is so indelible and reminiscent of something from the Boss that it's a first impression that's nearly impossible to shake.
| |
Isn't this the band that butchered that Neil young song
| |
So when does new Horrible Crows drop?
| |
For the best but damn. Glad I got to see them twice this year
| |
Not surprised after Get Hurt.
'59 Sound is one of my favorite records, but it was all downhill after that, unfortunately.
| |
The cover of Get Hurt looked a little like a nutsack
| |
I liked Get Hurt, at least I'll get to see them at Leeds before they split/go on hiatus whatever
| |
Good. Last album was a piece of ass.
I'm happy that they are unsatisfied with the direction they took after "American Slang".
| |
I've loved every single one of their albums. For those looking for more Horrible Crowes, lots of songs off Get Hurt were very Crowes-esque I thought, so more Crowes material is likely coming from Fallon.
Also, this looks like they may be setting up for a Sink or Swim 10-year anniversary tour in about a year and a half. (please dear god let this happen)
| |
I feel like it would be more likely for a '59 Sound 10 year tour, in which case they also might make a new album around that time. At least I hope. I would buy tickets in a heartbeat really for either.
