They should have just built what Believe had started. The song "Remember" reminds me how much potential they had, but they just kept to the same style each and every time. It's definitely a guilty pleasure for me since this was my middle school music though.

Pretty pumped for this album. Not their best single but it's solid, second half of the vid was prety cool too. I don't care what anyone says I'm fucking excited.

I don't know guys, ever since they left their shitty nu-metal days behind them they've put out three out solid slabs of straight-up modern hard rock/ mainstream metal that does its job, I'm looking forward to this.

the only solid one was 10K fists. The rest had about three good songs and the rest were filler. Even 10K fists was too long and had a bunch of weaker songs.

Not horrible, but these bands seem afraid to get out of their mid 2000s shell. Though with Disturbed that should come as no surprise.

Oh my god, this is trash. Absolute trash. The production alone is easily one of the worst jobs I've ever heard but EVERYTHING about this is irredeemable. There is nothing good about this song whatsoever; yeah, Disturbed is an easy target, but this is like offensively awful. The video is unwatchable; it's not even bad in a campy or silly way, it's just stupid.

Stopped watching almost every music video, I'll throw it on in the background and if I like the song then I'll watch the vid; easy way to not be influenced by the pictures, for better or worse.

Some times I don't do this, but it tends to be with ones I don't know so there's not a lot of pre-opinion forming.

You missed the point of my statement. Do you even realize that 'new prog' is not the same thing as the original prog rock you typed about? The same goes for alt metal. Both Muse and Disturbed serve to their listeners accessible, arguably watered down, material influenced by those original genres. That doesn't imply that the bands are garbage, in fact I actually enjoy both Absolution and Origin of Symmetry which you mentioned, but the conviction with which you wrote "Muse is also prog rock" is giggle worthy, furthermore comparing two different bands aimed to two different kinds of listener.

I'm sure many will agree with you on that, and I can too to a degree. My point was that comparing the bands through genres seems pointless to me when they are both doing the same thing in different musical branches.
