Terrible, just like every other song he's leaked so far in the last year.
|
| |
Not terrible but I could have lived without the five minute H&M + horn intro
|
| |
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is my favorite Mr. West record and amazing too but I wish I could get into something he's done since then.
|
| |
My god he's terrible.
|
| |
sia later kanye
|
| |
8:20 for those who want the actual track and don't want Kanye's shitty clothing lines.
Also damn it, this is going to be another singing album isn't it?
|
| |
oh my. Kanye really has completely lost the plot.
also p4k 10.00 incoming.
|
| |
I can't believe that he is serious about himself becoming a singer. He sounds absolutely ridiculous, his lyrics are mediocre at best, he completely abandoned everything that made him great. I mean this song is about as bare bones and bland as it gets when it comes to the production. The guy used to be a real wizard when it comes to stuff like that. Sia's is the only bearable part, and even then the song is nothing special.

jesus christ sputnik. so much negativity. the only criticism of this track i could really understand is the autotune. The melodies are gorgeous. The song is
haunting, atmospheric. It's certainly in a different league to Only One and FourFiveSeconds (that one in particular is just bad). So perhaps instead of just
being typical kanye haters blinded by hate and just dropping "terrible"s and "garbages"s, actually explain why? most of the comments I see on this website (on
news, end of year lists, most album reviews) these days are either ironic for the sake of it or just trolling. It's pretty depressing.
Thank you RadicalEd for at least going into detail, though I disagree with what you say. I don't think he's serious about becoming a singer. If he was, he
wouldn't be riding the autotune. I feel like he feels it's one of the best ways to express himself, which is why he randomly sings at concerts and such. The
production is minimal, but haunting and evocative. Those weird wail sounds do so much for me. As does the bit after that pause when Kanye's vocals come back in,
sounding all distant and echoey. Admittedly it's probably not really worth going into depth before actually hearing the track properly, but w/e

^jesus christ dude
Anyway, thoughts: Kanye has been overusing autotune lately; his melodies are pretty boring, especially considering the quality of the melodies he wrote for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy; but Vic and Sia hold their own. Regarding his composition, Kanye always seems to set up these "minimalistic" songs with an unnecessary sense of momentum, as if they're building up to something when they just plainly aren't. Additionally, he rehashes a lot of the same musical motifs instead of evolving songs; there is no change to these musical ideas, they just leave and then come back later in the exact same form. The recycling of the main vocal melody after Vic's subtly powerful solo is one such example of completely unwarranted repetition because after all Vic's effort to transform the song, it just goes right back to square one, which makes the introduction of Sia's part--basically a completely new musical idea--right before the end of the song seem like a bout of indecisiveness.
I appreciate that Kanye's trying to do something different, but the output should at least be good. I don't think he should stop because he might eventually get the hang of this "experimental"/"minimalist" thing but he's currently missing the point of both of those musical approaches. Seems like this next effort is gonna be on par with Yeezus (i.e. 2.5).

i enjoy this and the other tracks he's released over the last 2 months. however, i am an ass clown. so yeah. there's that. -chuckles-
|
| |
total shit
i didn't even listen
|
| |
I loved this, but then again, I also love the new Yeezi Boosts.
|
| |
interesting
|
| |
This was cool.
|
| |
The girls were hot and I liked the production of the song. Way stripped back and almoat under-produced.
|
| |
Horrible song, album'll probably be like a mixture between Yeezus and Chief Keef's Nobody, in other words somehow both gratingly annoying and boring as hell
|
| |
i really liked it
but i also loved yeezus so [DISREGARD]
|
| |
terrible, just like anything else by kanye
|
| |
What dimsim said. MBDTT was pretty much the best thing he's ever done (apart from that horrible mini-movie thing he did for it) and he's been letting up since.
|
| |
I didn't see a pair of Sambas anywhere in that video
|
| |
really bad but maybe it will grow on me or sound better in context of the album, I have faith.
|
| |
I neither like or dislike any of kanye's recent songs, I dunno if only one and fourfiveseconds is gonna be on the new album but if they are its heading towards a pretty average piece of work
|
| |
always thought of that as more Rihanna's song? it's fine as a pop song but if it were on a Kanye West album then lol
|
| |
think I read somewhere that it's gonna be on both albums but I could be wrong. Personally I wanna see him get back to rapping man I think he's so afraid of releasing something that sounds like his previous album he's gone all experimental working with Paul McCartney and going for a complete new sound
|
| |
I don't even care anymore man, I still have The College Dropout, Late Registration and MBDTF if I ever wanna listen to good Kanye. I've given up hope, but it'd be nice if he could prove me wrong sometime in the future
|
| |
None of the new songs I have heard from Kanye have done anything for me, unfortunately.
|
| |
@manfromspace you not like graduation?
|
| |
Graduation is good but not my fav from him
|
| |
Only One and 45s aren't on the new album. The latter was confirmed to be on Rihanna's upcoming.
|
| |
good haha
|
| |
If that's true it's good news
|
| |
this song is good as hell and i typically hate autotuned kanye
|
| |
dope dope dope
|
| |
first 20 secs gave me a headache with the autotune and then i just shut it off
|
| |
actually a really good song. y'all be trippin'
|
| |
This shit is amazing.
Vic floated all over this.
