Such mediocrity. Happy to see Tenacious D and Kendrick Lamar get some love though. Loved the song "i", one of my favourites from last year, so it's great to see it get some mainstream praise, it is easily one of the best rap songs of the decade so far. As much as I like Paramore's "Ain't It Fun", how the hell does that qualify as a rock song? It's clearly a pop song. Motorhead has been around for the better part of 35-40 years. How is that irrelevant? Not to mention the fact that they just released an album a little over a year ago. They're also probably one of the most highly influential metal bands that are still putting out music. And according to this site, their newest has a 3.5 rating which ain't half bad by sputnik standards. It got 7.6 on pitchfork, metalinjection said it was a "moral victory" and a "legitimate win," and as a metacritic score of 78.

The fucking watch on my wrist (Vestal "MOTORHEAD") is influenced by them for shit sakes. Man I hate when people use the word irrelevant for bands. Especially when they're entirely inaccurate in their statement.

Tenacious D are actually a pretty decent band, but they shouldn't be considered good enough to win a Grammy. The fact that they have (for a cover, no less) does show how much of a joke these awards are. The rest of the nominees for metal were also laughable.

Although I think Paramore's win was like the first time a female-fronted rock group's won for best rock song in a long time, so their win is significant on principal.
