Rules, can't wait for this album.
|
| |
dunno about the clean vox part but otherwise excellent track
|
| |
Not bad, hope I like this album more than the last one.
|
| |
excelent
|
| |
Well that ruled.
|
| |
Enslaved literally make good music without effort
|
| |
Immidiatley quelled any doubts i had about this being less than exceptional.
|
| |
Damn that was killer. Forgot how scathing those screams are. Pumped as hell for the album.
|
| |
Finally, the black metal element is reinstated, partially at least.
Great track.
|
| |
Pretty cool track. Really stoked to hear the album in full.
|
| |
Fuck yeah this rules
|
| |
what u talkin about art? clean vocal part is the best part. beginning is fucking brutal
|
| |
idk the cleans sound kinda worn out. beginning slays agreed
|
| |
This entire album slays.
|
| |
I thought the cleans were good
"This entire album slays."
is there a possible bargain we can make that will get me listening privileges?
|
| |
Was really excited at the beginning that Enslaved would stop being really boring but then the cleans came in and I realized that was only a pipe dream.
|
| |
Rules
|
| |
the blasty first half was great, but then they went back to Boringland with those Opeth-wannabe cleans that just kept going on and on and on and on. Hope there are more aggressive parts on the record like that.
|
| |
This will be my AOTY no doubt.
|
| |
Boringland with those Opeth-wannabe cleans that just kept going on and on and on and on. Hope there are more aggressive parts on the record like that.
Opeth-wannabe? Fuck off, these guys are doing what Opeth can't do anymore and tbqh, they do it better and better with each release. Their sense of prog-rock is at least incorporated into their style of Viking/ second wave bm and doesn't just ape the shit out of their influences.
Enslaved are on top of their game and always will be. They have yet to put out anything mediocre and I would go as far to say they have the best discography out of every metal band on this planet at this point in time in terms of sheer quality and consistency. When you listen to an Enslaved album, you think "Hey, I'm listening to an Enslaved record". No one can argue that (unless you're Kyle and then I will politely write you a letter explaining why you should give them another shot....remember my blog posting years ago? hahaha)

not even going to say anything
|
| |
They seem pretty consistent but I haven't listened to their whole discog yet so can't really support any side.
|
| |
kids please shut up your onions smell really bad and are making me cry
on a non-shit tossing note song rules and am so excited to see my fav band release the new album and kick ass in LA exactly one month from today
|
| |
Was really excited at the beginning that Enslaved would stop being really boring but then the cleans came in and I realized that was only a pipe dream.
this is really... c'mon dude
|
| |
This will be my AOTY no doubt. [2]

dude at least Mike Aferfeldt's vocals had emotion. These are just the same monotones for three
minutes. Vocalist needs to pound a few Redbulls before recording, imo. And even though this is just
the "edited" version of the track, there's still nothing proggy or even structurally interesting here.
It's just blasty section / clean vocals / melodic outro thing. Wow such dynamic. Blind Guardian
write dynamic songs with loads of riffs and nobody calls them prog because they're not prog.
this post brought to you by slight intoxication
|
| |
"new liturgy >>>>"
newbies googling metal posting
|
| |
Dig the song. The beginning is fucking amazing doe
|
| |
"newbies googling metal posting"
not sure what this means tbh
|
| |
honestly found this really boring
|
| |
ehh
|
| |
this is really... c'mon dude
I've made it known I think Enslaved's clean vocals are downright terrible. I will admit the beginning is the
heaviest and most straightforward bm (read: without a lot of the ridiculous progressive stuff) this band has
produced in forever, and I do enjoy that.
|
| |
Lookit me and Crysis, agreeing on stuff. End of the world's comin' I think.
|
| |
feels good man
|
| |
Really enjoyed this one. I haven't been this excited about an Enslaved record since AEO.
|
| |
yes
|
| |
Song rules. No Surprise.
|
| |
cleans ruined it
|
| |
This is great, especially that beginning section. I really need to hear more Enslaved, I've only jammed a few songs from random albums and loved them.
|
| |
Better cleans than Ne Obliviscaris at least.
|
| |
whats wrong with the cleans
|
| |
Idk. I think they're fine
|
| |
they really sound like mikael åkerfeldt except lazier and without any kind of effort
|
| |
dude at least Mike Aferfeldt's vocals had emotion. These are just the same monotones for three minutes.
Kjellson is hypnotic with a lot of his repeated stuff. Akerfeldt's music/ lyrics/ pure clean singing are now a fucking joke with his side-show cover band. Don't know why people hate the cleans in Enslaved, I think they're fitting.
Lookit me and Crysis, agreeing on stuff. End of the world's comin' I think.
The earth already stopped spinning a couple years back when Kyle and I agreed on something.....fuck I can't remember.
|
| |
Why are people complaining about clean vocals? seriously?
|
| |
their cleans are usually done tastefully but here they just don't sound right
|
| |
I love Enslaved but for me this was only decent
|
| |
I think we can all agree that the first half is best no matter what you think of the cleans in the backhalf
|
| |
word
|
| |
lmao @ ppl who still think Grutle does all the cleans
|
| |
Btw it's an edited track but what does that mean exactly? Is it just shorter or something?
|
| |
ehh it's inconsistant
|
| |
"Btw it's an edited track but what does that mean exactly? Is it just shorter or something?"
The actual song is 8:13 long so they cut the end of the song off in the video
|
| |
Ah ok. Can't wait to hear the full album.
|
| |
Hell yeah I'm so stoked
|
| |
the full version is floating around online, the song gets best right at the part where they cut it off imo
|
| |
lmao @ ppl who still think Grutle does all the cleans
Ok, so he does 95% of them. Happy?
|
| |
@Wizard nope, Herbrand Larsen has been the primary clean vocalist since 2004 and is the one everyone here has been bitching about for years
check out any music vids or live footage, their voices are pretty distinct from each other
|
| |
I can't find the full version online, anyone have a link or website to it?

idk if this breaks any rules but here it is, it's 160kbps but still not too bad
|
| |
Thanks for posting, People are right the best part is the second half
|
| |
Song rules and I don't see the problem with the cleans at all tbh.
|
| |
The cleans are fine. If you cant handle them then go listen to something more one dimensional.
|
