Waiting for this news to be approved. Kinda heavy.
Edit: Isn't it good when bands release trailers only a month before the official release? Don't have to wait for a very long time.
| |
I need this in my life.
| |
Holy fuck yes this sounds awesome, artwork is incredible as usual
| |
This sounds like a huge step-up on Violent Waves, excited!

^This!
Trailer sounds great.
| |
My biggest issue with Violent Waves was just how fucking bored Anthony Green sounded throughout the entire album. It's really good to hear the passion back in his voice again.
| |
Yeah this will be fucking amazing
| |
On Letting Go is back!
| |
Fuck yes!
| |
AOTY INC.
| |
was looking at these guys on sputnik this morning wondering when they were going to release a new album...WADDAYA KNOW
| |
AOTY
| |
Sounds fucking wicked. Can't wait.
| |
ahhhh fuck this is gonna be great
| |
Coolest artwork ever. Can't wait.
| |
So stoked for this. Sounds miles ahead of Violent Waves, which was a total snoozefest. And I've always loved Circa, but gosh that album was a massive disappointment, even thought it wasn't bad per se.
| |
Have they tuned down a bit? They sound so much better for it.
| |

Also the music, I love the attack! This sounds like it might be the proper follow-up to BSN
| |
Sounds a bit like Underoath's last stuff
| |
Oh god that riff sounds so familiar.
| |
Going to be up there for aoty
| |
ah true his vocals are kinda reminiscent of the clean vocals on underoath's final album...
| |
gonna actually listen to this one I promise.
| |
Can't wait

You know what Violent Waves was for me? Violent Waves was like Jimmy Eat World's Invented. While Chase
This Light was nothing special, they went from some seriously catchy high-energy music to a slow-burning
attempt at being "serious".
Same thing with Anberlin going from Cities to Dark is the Way, Light is a Place.
In all 3 it seems like they realized that most fans appreciated the stylistic change, but weren't on
board. You can't just go from fun, poppy, fast, catchy to something a lot more dull. I'm so glad you guys
say this sounds like a step up. Unable to watch/listen now but I'm excited to when I'm home.
Violent Waves grew on me after a while -- it had 3-4 great little songs -- but I'm glad they're doing
something different than that. It was so low energy.
Edit: Getting more line-break glitches again!
| |
Cool
| |
Can't wait to hear more, this sounds awesome. I heard this album was gonna be on the heavier side
| |
Yea that sounded pretty sweet. Great vocals from green here.
| |
I hope its more like Blue Sky Noise and less like Violet Waves. Blue Sky Noise is easily their best.
| |
woooaaahhhhh that was sick! this album sounds like it's going to rekindle my love for this band after the incredibly 'meh' Violent Waves
| |
Sumerian records?
wtf
| |
yeah dude didnt you hear circa has synth and chugs now
| |
Artwork is incredible and it's great to hear the passion back in his voice. Violent Waves was such a dull album, so I'm hopeful this is a faithful followup to Blue Sky Noise.
| |
Stoked
| |
they about to bring the junz.
| |
Holy hell this sounds awesome. This just skyrocketed to the top of my "must hear" list.
| |
Ambiant, atmospheric, and heavy?! Damn excited.
| |
i fucking loved violent waves soooo fuck yall
| |
Sounds awesome, can't wait to hear a full single
| |
Sounds heavy, I'm liking it
| |
Secret and Whisssssper
| |
Pumped as hell
| |
can't fucking wait
| |
That sounded sick, but Sumerian Records... seems like an odd choice for them. We'll see.
| |
really dynamic sounding. will be hopefully awesome.
| |
I dont like this new Circa Survive Style. I fucking LOVE On letting go and juturna with its hooking reffrains, dreamy guitartextures and its dramatic feeling.
But this stuff sounds more like a mars volta ripoff or something. More "Progressive-rock" than "Post-hardcore" or however you want to call it.
For me compared to their older stuff it more sounds like a completly other band
| |
shut the fuck up
| |
fuck you loveisamixtapeisajerk
| |
calm down
| |
Just a teaser, but those couple seconds already sound better than Violent Waves.
| |
Wait, you guys actually liked Blue Sky Noise more than Violent Waves? You're kidding me, right? BSN had maybe 2-3
listenable songs, awful and shockingly bland record. Almost every song followed the same formula and had a big, radio-
ready, hooky chorus, and none of them has the atmospheres or interesting guitar arrangements of the first two albums.
But yeah, this clip sounds great and the album art is awesome.
| |
Blue Sky Noise was a lot more exciting of a listen than Violent Waves was for me. Made me think that maybe they should stick to poppier song structures. Still, trailer sounds pretty sick, looking forward to this
| |
I prefer the overall sound of violent waves but you can't really deny Blue Sky Noise is a better album.
| |
sounds great
| |
i would really like this band if they just had m/ vocals
| |
Blue Sky Noise imo is their best album. Then Juturna, OLG, and Violent Waves. 2-3 are interchangeable but really I count BSN as a 5.
| |
Man, weird. I know quite a few CS fans in person, but I don't know a single one that even thought BSN was a good album - let alone their best. It surprises me a lot to see so much love for it.
| |
on letting go is pretty dam good imo
| |
Juturna>bsn>violent waves>on letting go
fact.
On letting go does have the best artwork.
| |
for me it's OLG=BSN > Juturna > VW. OLG is definitely more musically interesting to me, but BSN is just such
a great pop record and listening to it all the way through is such a breeze. plus they both have fucking
ridiculously great closers. Your Friends Are Gone and Dyed In the Wool are probably my two favorite circa
songs ever
| |
i still need to give VW more of a listen though
| |
lot of circa survive love on here. i am amaze.
| |
on letting go > Violent Waves > BSN > Juturna
bsn would be better if violent waves didn't have The Lottery
this new album sounds like it may crush all of that though
| |
Sounds like Underoath's last album.
| |
Funny, The Lottery is my least favorite Circa Survive song out there. I just don't want to sung to about cancer, whether it's Circa, MCR or anyone else.
That said, I feel like Appendage should be included in this rankings. I feel like it's Circa's best example of atmospheric light rock. It's totally a fun listen with different textures and memorable moments, while steering away from Circa's more heavy aspects. That said, I think Anthony's voice is just more suited toward heavy music, it gives him a better reason to push his abilities.
| |
Blue Sky Noise was an eye-opener for me, never liked Anthony Green's vocals that much, but that album blew me away on the first listen, and judging by this snippet, this album is not gonna be any different. CANNOT WAIT.
| |
BSN just has a really cohesive feel to me. You can't say glass arrows isn't awesome either.
Violent Waves was cool too though just in a darker less catchier way. On Letting Go has always been my least favorite.
| |
One listen to violent waves and i forgot about it
| |
Juturna > On Letting Go >>> Violent Waves >>>>>> BSN
| |
please please dont put off any new saosin material as a result
| |
New Circa :o
| |
"please please dont put off any new saosin material as a result"
wasn't green just playing some shows with them? i don't think he's actually a member again
| |
yeah he's not
| |
Would be dope though, like both bands going I mean.
| |
so r they going faux prog since they're on sumerian now
| |
they were already hinting that they would go that direction w/ violent waves
| |
New song, someone posted it on absolutepunk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hGMgULVgUw
| |
new song rules.
| |
will be their best album
| |
song is so good. this really may be their best album
| |
fuck yes new song is amazing. video is retarded/awesome also
| |
Pumped for this, song is great.
| |
oh man new track so good
| |
